I am in a panic right now.
Seeing first signs of PWM on one of the smaller plants and I know this means its likely all over that entire part of the grow and easy to spread to different parts of my little home grow. I also found some spider mites on the herbs in the window. With the landlord issues I am starting to feel like it might just be best if I cull my smaller Cannabis plants because I now don’t want them in the tent to spread anything in there. I think I might need to just chop my flowering plant sooner than later and use the small 2x2x4 as a small drying space for the current flowering plant.
I am spread too thin worrying about too many things right now without the proper funds to really proceed correctly. I need to take a step back and evaluate solutions without always a new problem before me. I need to shut down the grow and start up when I can manage an appropriate IPM and keep my plants safe. The PWM is on the Pink Plum Kush but not the Pink Lemonade Auto, I’m wondering about potential resistance in the Pink Lemonade Auto cultivar but I still don’t want to spread anything around.
I know plucking will help but its not a valid strategy. I need to have an appropriate IPM in place and with the current landlord issues things feel very shaky. Which I don’t even know where to put my strawberries and spider plant.

Damn dude sorry to hear this. Peroxide bath is cheap. Maybe give that a shot. All you need is a bucket big enough to dunk the plant in and hydrogen peroxide.

@kapsndkolas This should work for the smaller plants on the PWM side. They are not large and this may work. I trimmed the branch and removed it out to the organics bin outside.

Any plants with spider mites went outside immediately. I still need to dump the planters and put them in a garbage bag. I suspect that any other plant near those plants also have mites so one spider plant, the catnip and basil are toast. I’ve not been taking the best care of them anyways.

Can also use baking soda/water. Sodium bicarbonate raises the pH on the leaf surface too high for PM.

@Hash Do you have measurements needed? I’m not 100% it is PWM but it was a white stuck on the leaf. The RH stays pretty low at between 30-40%. I’m not sure if the plant can push out extra calcium or something like that but I was getting that leaf out of there so it could not spread as easily.

Adding 1 T(15ml) baking soda to 1000ml water, will give you a ph of around 8.8, ive used it on tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber, it works, i reccomend rinsing plant off with reg water 3 hrs after, and go from there. Get rid of that plant with mites, or quarantine it outside somewhere, sometimes you have to quickly start over and eliminate potential major pest and mildew issues,

@qualicumchronic Do you know if this will negatively affect a flowering Cannabis plant? I could definitely make a solution to dunk and then rinse to save them. I really do not want to have to cull any of my Cannabis plants. I am really going back and forth on what makes things easier to get into a new place and trying to get my medicine issues solved through growing.
Any inspections of hers will go easier without a Cannabis plant in sight and I know that. It *just* makes things easier. Regardless of legality it makes things easier.

@undefined Anything with spider mites I quickly tossed outside. It is just herbs and I can restart those fairly easily.

I feel your panic. I’m dealing with pests(thrips)and I’m sick over it. I’m new grower. I will make mistakes but I really enjoy growing. There’s a learning curve for me. I will keep going.

@pops-1 I think I’d have a different level of panic if I didn’t have the landlord issues as well… She walked into an AA meeting hall and started yelling at my Mom about stuff. She doesn’t know I’m growing at all but wants to slander me as a Drug Addict when I’m on Medical Marijuana. I 100% could get a Medical Growing License and plan on doing so in 2025.

Meaning its not learning how to deal with the IPM that bothers me… I know I could order an AC Infinity electric sprayer and the Lost Coast Plant Therapy and be good… It is that while I’m trying to get that done. I am also going to have to deal with my current Landlord and the issues revolving around her.

@pops-1 My local Hydro store sold me these really inexpensive pouches on stakes that have ThripX labeled on them. I found those really helpful for eliminating thrips.

So sorry to hear this ZoomyCat. I know Kyle Kushan has done a peroxide dip with his plants and it worked. I know he has a video on it.
