• So I have lights, I have a 2x2x4 tent. What is the most important addition to be able to close the tent? Do you think I should grab a T4 or T6, a noise reduction clamp and a carbon filter to start out or should I spring for the refillable filter? I know for a 2x2x4 its only 16CFM and a T4 is capable of 12+ exchanges a minute and the T6 can do 25 exchanges per minute. I bought this simply as a tent for drying but I think I need to consider it my main tent for now until I can get more. I’d like the CFM to be quiet and fully capable of covering additional tents later with vent splitters or something like that.

I think running a larger inline fan running less hard would end up providing less noise and this is important to me. Do I even need a carbon filter or should I leave that for now and just get an inline fan system?

Am I thinking correctly that getting an intake fan and carbon filter unit would be the most effective for venting building humidity due to the tent being closed?

      • You need the Exhaust fan following a tent for sure. As far as a charcoal filter, that depends on your living area and neighbor’s. If smell is not a bother then no, not needed.

        Can I ask why a 2×2?

Oh yeah, for drying. I’d go bigger if you can. Always need a seed starter drying tent.

        • @oldestschool Yeah people said to go bigger but the compact tent with the amazon discount I got was just over $100 CAD. The price was just right.

        • If you don’t have to worry about the smell, the carbon filter isn’t really needed.. I’d focus on fresh air exchange and your temp/humidity in a closed tent.

          • @Smokalottapotamus This was my thought as well. I’m just trying to get the most basic of setup going. If I close the tent the temperatures didn’t move but the humidity started rising like mad and I opened it back up.

            • @ZoomyCat then the exhaust fan should help with humidity if your Temps are stable. You could also try opening up various vents/port holes to let some fresh air in as well.
