• What is causing this discoloration in my two Bruce Banners and the 4 Afghan Skunk are doing great. The only difference is the soil. The Bruce Banners are in ocean forest and the 4 skunks are in strawberry fields.

      • This is most likely due to the pH going out of range a bit. This is not any indication of a lack of minerals. Stress on the roots can make a plant act wonky.

What’s the best fix if this is to pop up @jmystro a flush with ph’d water? Or less volume, but more frequent feedings/waterings?

          • @Frank_White There are many variables as to why a medium’s pH can go out of range. The adjustment answer is completely different depending on the situation. From hydroponics to living soils. Things that influence a mediums pH are things like mineral imbalances, water source, water temperature, water volume, salt build up, root exudates, ion exchange, and microbial activity just to name a few.

            • @jmystro Thank you for the response! I’m learning every environment and plant is different, and must be addressed individually. Almost like a parent trying to raise completely different kids the same way. Usually doesn’t work out to well. Awesome, thought provoking answer as always, my friend.

          • FFOF is an amended soil. I would first look to my water source’s pH to make sure it’s between 6-7. Are you supplementing any other nutrition?
