• Autoflower growers: what auto strains and/or breeders have you been enjoying lately? I’m looking for fresh selections to hunt & breed.

I’ll start: Jean-O’s Genetics is an underrated gem.

      • I’m about to run some night owl genetics

        Strawberry milk and qookies remix

        Valencia Kush

I’ve enjoyed running night owl genetics

      • About to start Mephesto 4 Assed Monkey and Ripley’s OG

        • @corwinmortac yep, Mephisto’s the classic. I find, though, that most other autoflower breeders have taken a Mephisto and crossed it many generations down the line—so sometimes Mephisto can feel a little like going backwards. Night Owl started with Mephisto genetics, for example, but has since built a ton on top of that base. The situation’s similar for a lot of us other auto breeders

        • Brother Mendel’s has some heat

          • Ethos is releasing autoflowers at a pretty good pace. I’ve had good luck with several so far.

          • I’m all into the Fastbuds Trainwreck man! Their Strawberry Banana can knock your socks off both THC/Terpene-wise and visually. I’ve had phenomenal success with RQS’ North Thunderfuck Auto as well as their Royal Cheese, too. Homegrown Cannabis Company has a wicked Green Crack auto too, but be ready to futz with it every day unless you have a 7ft tent. 🤘🏼

            • @casadelwhacko FastBuds Strawberry Banana is a good one for sure, just like their Strawberry Pie! If you like RQS you’ll probably like the other European breeders too (like Seedsman, Dutch Passion, Barney’s Farm, etc.), have you tried any of them?

I didn’t find Homegrown Cannabis Company’s Pine Autoflower to actually be piney, but I’ll be trying more when doing the pine group so we’ll see! Thanks for your recommendations 🙏

If you like all that, I highly recommend trying some US genetics from top breeders like mentioned elsewhere in this thread… in my experience, the big US breeders like Atlas Seed, Humboldt Seed Company, Ethos Genetics, and even many of the smaller US breeders outperform euros like FB, RQS, etc. Just my 2¢ from hunting. Let me know if you want some free testers for comparison purposes

            • Fast buds gorilla cookies has been super resilient. My first grow and I messed a lot up but she never quit on me. She’s frosting up and getting some nice purple tones in the buds.

I Also grew their trainwreck. It wasn’t quite as resilient so I’m only gunna pull an oz maybe but what did grow is fat and frosty since week 2. Super frosty.

              • @green_sheep I really liked Gorilla Cookies, too, you picked a good one!

FastBuds is just inconsistent. They’re one of the better European breeders, but US breeders in general have higher quality genetics. FB outsources their seed production so some is great while some is just good

              • I saw the cup results posted, congrats to all, I’m not ready yet. I have started again in 2020. So I have only done about 7 grows, my problem is germination. Does anybody else get beans from “ILGM”. Wondering if my genetics could be as responsible for the duds I’ve had that cause delay in starting. Lots of time I may grow 3 similar types, but only try one seed of each. Cost about $8 each, but I’m cap at 5 plants and I have only used fem seeds. Thinking of trying Auto’s so thanks for the conversation.

                • @burky62 ILGM is a site for beginners. They have great tutorials but terrible genetics. Just grab anything from any other site/breeder mentioned on this thread.

Autos are less for beginners and more for outdoors. You might have better success with photoperiods unless you have specific needs which autos fulfill. Need to chat about growing sometime?

                  • Thanks for reply, I currently run photos w/fem seeds. Problem is when they pop it’s like they run out of energy. Shoot won’t extend probably 2cm. But 10 get 10 free. Get what you pay for, sounds like 50/50.

What is a good price for very good genetics?

                • @durbsgreen336 I haven’t heard of Next Generation or Crossbone Genetics! Those are new—and new breeders are veeeeerrry interesting. I’ll have to look them up, thanks!

                  • Dude alebrije all day! 💚👊🌱 dude is an absolute beast
