• Wash Before Dry?

      what up DGC

just got a great tip from @unk_curleys_cannabis_emporium that I haven’t really heard talked about too much. Curious what everyone thinks.

do you wash after harvest to combat any unwanted dust and insects? 🐜

      • No. Washing will rob you of the goods.

        • @jmystro What “goods” are being washed away… other than the dying/dead trichomes?

Is it really washing that much off vs the dry bouncing, shaking around in a jar or bag?

pm made me wash and yes it does loose some but to an extent of a noticeable difference??.. No. (Atleast not that time).

          Much respect Jmystro

        • @jmystro Good thing I didn’t use boiling water when I felt I had to wash then.

I agree ..in a sense lol

          Thanks Jmystro

          • That settles it. Whatever you do, don’t smoke this stuff. It’s been washed, and has no good stuff left. I was just informed I ruined all my bud because I wash it all.

Well, myself and everyone that ever tries anything I grow says different, but that’s just anecdotal. As you all can see from these pics of washed buds, I have no idea what I’m doing.

            • …and I choose not to smoke dirt dust bug poop bird poop dead bugs or anything else I don’t have to.

I’m always going to wash my buds since the first time I ever did it and saw the difference.

Plus, I get a PERFECT dry within 5-10 days max (10 – 12% with moisture meter reading in center of buds). Trimmed by hand, then they go straight into Grove Bags, and into a beverage fridge @59 degrees F for a week. I used to do a 4 week cure, but there seems to be no difference.

Everything has crazy terps like my Orange Gasm is crazy orange terps and super sativa high for instance. The strains I personally made are even better.

Last person to visit my house told me, “I can’t find any weed in AZ that has the colors, the frost, and all the different smelly terps like yours. I’ve only had weed like this in California, and I have to search around for certain people because the dispensaries don’t have weed like this.”

I know I smiled all in her FACE that day🤣

              • It’s easy to see for yourself. Truthfully, the first time I washed my buds, what I saw in the water afterwards totally disgusted me. I pulled my Max-see out and saw there were at least four different types of tiny mite like monster looking creatures, identified spider mites that never got a chance to take off and be noticed, and dirt. Lots of dust and dirt. I also saw the first bucket had a ring of trichomes around the top where the water line was. These were easy to see because they were mishapen and degraded. The healthy cloudy trichs were all still on the buds, just like when you spray them with a hose, or the rain comes down hard. Did you lose all your goodies last time it rained? Weren’t you sad you got water on your buds?

I’m vegan. Not an ethical one. I just think eating or smoking bugs is disgusting. I’ll take this inferior bud that’s been bud washed.

                • I love the passion! Haha but seriously thank you for your input. And I like the idea of the good trichs will stay. Im definitely gunna give it a shot and see how it goes. It’s definitely scary the first time but you’ve convinced me to at least give it a try. I’ll do a half washed half not and post back when I’m done 🙂
