So, what all I know about breeding comes from Jeff Irie and a couple of books. I’ve had one good go at it with great results. But here’s my thoughts…

why can I not just take a flower lady I like and a good strong man plant and set them next to each other like way the fuck out in the middle of nowhere. Like just pop em in the ground in some field or ditch or even in the woods with a sunny spot. You only need them out there for like a few days. Put the male up wind when it’s ready to blow and come pick up the female later? Or just a branch if you don’t really need a shit bunch of seeds. Just a set and forget breeding program.

except don’t forget. cuz you still gotta go get that shit.

      right? Idk. I’m stoned.

      • And I am considering cross pollination possibilities. But if they are literally 2 feet away then I’m sure you gotta solid chance that it just gets hit hard and fast with that male if you time it right? … maaaaan. Idk. I’m not sure what to think 🤔

        • Sure! I’m almost positive any of your neighbors who grow outdoors will be glad to hear you placed a male out there to send pollen through the air and on the bees.🙂

        • Yes that would work, but is inconsiderate if there are outdoor growers. Every august I try my hand at a little pollen chucking (I have goals and an hypothesised outcome but I’m not a breeder just a guy making plant babies) I use the back shed it’s far enough from my Grow tent in the house that I haven’t had any problems with pollen and I don’t believe I’m upsetting anyone else, further I live in Prohibition land so they shouldn’t be anyone growing outside.

          • so, pollen can travel a long ways with a good breeze. I have been 2 hills over like maybe 5 miles away form someone who had left 2 unidentified males in there outdoor garden and it seeded about 75% of the outdoor crop that year…and the worst part was they didn’t have stable genetics so all the offspring inter-sexed which made it even more wasteful. And shit it may have not even been them that got me. In those days concentrates where not even a thing….

            Wow

            • Weeeeel. In these here parts it’s a couple hundreds of miles to the nearest “legal” garden. Also surrounded by dense forests. Sooo.. neighbors aren’t much of an issue. No tears here. And I’m thinking if it’s timed right you won’t need them out there for more than 2 days. It’s not like we’re strapping flowering males to a drone and flying it through the neighborhood. If it is a danger to anybody you could even go as far as using a paint brush and a small jar of pollen and going in manually on a clam day and spray the area down with water.
