• Has anybody been using the Winterfrost? I was seeing if it’s OK to reuse my soil after using the winter frost to finish off a run I was just curious if my plants I’m transplanting would have any residual effects if I’m re-amending and using the same soil that I had used the winter frost in?? Thanks for your time and have a great day!!!!

      • Yep, I use it the last week of the cycle before harvest. I have the same concerns, but I also use Ruby Ful (Fulvic acid) the full grow cycle which helps as a flushing agent anyway. When done, I’ll usually run 1 gallon of tap water per gallon of soil through it, just to flush out most/all of any remaining Frost, then I consider the soil “safe” for re-use in veg.

I’ve never had much of an issue. Occasionally (before I flushed) I’d plant a clone and it would get all weird for the first week and then it would figure things out. Residual Winter never seemed to hurt much if at all; I just flush it out just to be sure.

        • I was wondering the same thing. so I planted an auto flower in a pot with soil that I had used winter frost. I left the roots from the old plant, dropped the seed and fed and watered as usual. She’s now in the first week of flowering and everything seems fine. We’ll see how she does.

I just used Winer Frost for the first time myself this harvest and loved it but hadn’t even considered if it would have any effect when re-using my coco. What a great question and one of about 17000 reasons I’m happy to be a DGC member! In fact I don’t know if I ever would have discovered Winter Frost without the DGC. Wow, thanks guys.

I’d expect less effect when re-using Coco versus re-using soil. Coco is generally pretty inert and doesn’t hold onto nutes like soil does. If you routinely use any kind of fulvic (such as NewMil Ruby Ful), I’d just flush rinse it between re-uses and call it good. (Edit: even if you DON’T use a fulvic, a quick rinse off would be a good idea. )

          • I also usually throw my soil back in the worm bin. Mix it up a little bit let it sit for a couple weeks so it should be good, huh?

            • Using a Enzyme should break it down… but I’ll ask jerin or Gabe for you 🤘😁👍

            • I use/reuse Coco all the time. I use Winter Frost for 2 weeks, leaving about a week and a half after before cutting them down. I also use Cannazym in my reused Coco to help break down everything including the old roots just as Grambo said. Zero effects on any transplant including seedlings.
