• @scottyreal you prefer to smoke newer vs older bud, right?

How do you keep/store your freshies to keep them fresh?

      I’m not doing a perpetual harvest 🙁

      • Refrigerate your flower but do not freeze it. This will keep it fresh for as long as possible. Never open a container right out of the fridge in a humid environment where condensation can form on the flower and inside of the container. Let the container sit out for a few minutes to get to room temp before opening to prevent condensation.

        • Invest in a cheap wine fridge. I got one for around a hundred online. It keeps terps fresh for quite some time. I’ve saved some favorite buds in between harvests for up to a year with great success. It usually doesn’t stick around that long though lol.

          • @Newleaf I’ve got a dry cabinet to control moisture level (doubtful it is strong enough to dry… Guess we’ll see.

I picked up a peltier cooler to play around with.

I’d like to eventually come up with a quick hack for converting a mini fridge or whatever is cheap you can find into a freshie chamber.

The problem with my dry box is it doesn’t control temp. I also keep it in my grow/smoke room which can run in the 80s during veg

          • @Newleaf It has two small peltier units with aluminum heat sinks that capture moisture and drain into external sponge for evaporation.

Minimal cooling for the entire unit

@goodguycanna Nice, are you able to control turning the device on and off, through some sort of application, dictated by sensors? I wonder if you were to install a larger peltier for cooling only, if the heat sinks could keep up with water removal. A setup like that would prob be best if you’re in a situation where your always trying to reduce humidty

              • @Newleafyes, it’s controlled by a humidity sensor so I can set it.

                I’m tinkering with adding a cooling plate…

I’m in MN so I would imagine in the winter I would need to add humidity with a water tray…

I’ll probably just end up adding these to a mini fridge or wine cooler

            • @goodguycanna Yea adding humidity sounds like the hard part. I was thinking your sponge method on the inside would be a good idea . With more surface area it would evaporate better. The hard part is stopping the humidity from rising in that small space, once the sponge or tray is saturated. Venting is the only thing that comes to mind at that point.

              • @Newleaf I’m hoping to chop half the plant when amber starts to show, then let the other half go much heavier amber.

I’ll wash and probably hang dry for a day then see what she can do.

No idea what my humidity is going to jump if I put in 1 tray or 10 trays.

If she handles 4 trays I’ll be pumped. The process might be hang dry for X days, then into the box
