terpgiggler posted an update
I believe this is a magnesium deficiency but I use cal mag almost every watering. Ph was 6.5. In grow dots…I also added 1400 ppm of terp tea,
And some foxfarm nutes..so I believe I have locked out the cal mag with too much phosphorus, and , or potassium. What are your thoughts?
cheeseburgereddie, theunclekush and 2 others-
The dots don’t need the additional cal-mag and it’s locking out other nutrients. Stop using the cal mag and use some recharge every few days to get those nutes back in the leaves. If you need magnesium then use epsom salts, but not cal-mag. The dots have plenty of calcium and magnesium. I haven’t needed any additional supplements other than Recharge.

Killin em with kindness. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. You also really should to get the pH down around 6 to make sure everything is available.

@jmystro 6.0 you say…I was under the impression they start out in the low 6’s, and move closer to 6.5 during flower. Also this chart…I do usually keep it at 6.2 or 6.3 tho.
So I will bring it back down… thx.

Nitrate is a bit more available at a pH over 6 (between pH 6-7.5) and phosphate we use is a bit more available under 6. So 6-6.2 is perfect for veg and 5.8-6 is perfect for flower in most media. There are two forms of phosphate available to the plant but only one is in our pH range. Dihydrogen phosphate (H2PO4) is most soluble in an acidic solution (pH of 3-6) while hydrogen phosphate (HPO4) is available to the plant at an alkaline pH between 8-10. That’s out of the range we use. Phosphoric acid, the main ingredient in most pH down products is H3PO4. Adding phosphoric acid to a solution to lower pH also has the benefit of becoming plant available phosphate once the molecule gives up a hydrogen atom to become H2PO4.

If you really want a better understanding of plant nutrition you can read this a few times and it should start to sink in. https://archive.dudegrows.com/mystros-guide-to-cannabis-nutrition/

Thx. For taking the time to answer that…
Very helpful, and I’ll look at that link now…
