Cannatrol reviews?
Posted by ddawg on September 19, 2024 at 5:30 pmHas anyone tried a cannatrol dry/cure machine yet?
they are pricey like $1600, they say min dry/cure cycle is 8 days and then you can store in there for long term. I have watched a bunch of interviews sounds like he really knows what he is talking about.

These are supposed to be the very best. I’ve never seen anything to compare it against. I know that I sure as hell want one.

Its literally just a box with humidity and air control. But because companies know we need this stuff, they hike the price to a ridiculous amount just to abuse our pockets. I personally wouldn’t suggest it untill they make it a price that isn’t disrespectful to the amount of work we put into the money they want for it. But don’t get me wrong, I DO want one lmao

I was wondering why couldn’t you modify a wine fridge? Idk. My problem is even tho I just grow for me now. They are too small for my harvests. And way out of my broke budget. I’m kinda screwed atm. I need a bigger curing tent. I just filled it and have more ready next week. I may drown in the SOG lol.

There are name branded Humidors that do this for $400 on Amazon. I’m wondering if that would work the same way?
-
I would think so. I just wonder about. How little it can handle. At the moment I’m using a 2×4. It’s full with 4 med size plants. Maybe 4 oz each. I could make it where I have 2 levels without much trouble. Hahaha I just did the stoner math and realized I’m probably right at the cost of a canna troll with same production. 🤦♂️ fml. By the time I add up the cost to keep the room 65.
the best average temps and humidity I can get is. 65f & 56-65%. One benefit I didn’t think about is my flowering plants love the cold

Check out those Humidors in Amazon. If it can do the same thing, that’s 4x less expensive.

I’m betting a humidor is NOT the same as a cannatrol! The main difference being a humidor is for maintaining proper humidity for tobacco cigars storage. It would probably be fine for storage of cannabis, but not drying. My 2 cents worth.

I’ll stick with the old school way I’ve done it for the last 20+ years!

Here’s a thread on how to diy a Cannatrol for a fraction of the cost. It doesn’t look too hard.

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY
I had read about these for a while before trying, this is not by any means a new idea nor did I come up with the idea. I was tired of over drying and drying too quickly in the winter, … Continue reading

I own one and its works great. It is pricey and limited to 2.2 lbs of “Wet flower”. For this reason I also own a small Koolatrol “as a backup” which I built for less the $320.

my secret weapon, if u can afford it will be best purchase but only holds 1 plant

I just bought one because I have a really hard time managing humidity in my dry setup. My humidifiers just couldn’t keep up…it was so humid and damp around here this year. Had a hell of time getting the buds dry enough. I dry in a basement so the temp was very steady at about 65-68 degrees, but relative humidity can be all over the place. The first Cannatrol run worked really well for me. I placed an Inkbird hygrometer in the unit during the dry and cure cycles to check the built in measures it displays on the screen. The hygrometer took a reading every 10 seconds. The Cannatrol held the temperature, dew point, and humidity super steady for the entire run. Temp only fluctuated about a half degree Fahrenheit, and humidity only fluctuated about .25%. It definitely works as advertised. I was hesitant to spend that kind of coin, but I’m really glad I did.

i got one, one of the 1st ones w 2 chillers, I’m in Canada too, so it was extra pricey, but it exceeded my expectations, worth every penny, flawless drying n curing, its ready to smoke day 8, but the green taste hasn’t quite broken down yet, still needs a reg cure time, they boast not having to burp it after that 8 days, its true, if you have lots to dry, you can hang dry 1-2 days b4 loading it, it’ll hold more that way (add a dry day to the default run) i totally recommend it

Buddy of mine in OK with his .02¢ on cannatrol. Just don’t confuse dewpoint with humidity. That’s a steep learning curve I hear. 😬
