Companion planting for terps

Anyone know how feasible it would be to breed out a genetic line that’d have a particular terpene that was acquired by growing it with a certain companion crop which contained that particular terpene? Can flavour/aroma be ‘added to’ a strain in that way? How many runs would it take?

I agree with you that your not going to breed in something from companion planting or get a strawberry flavor from planting with strawberries.

But in theory you should get a variance of expression across different companion plants just from the fact that different plants produce different root excudates and if there sharing/trading or exchanging through the mycorrhizae network with each other you would think there’d have to be a difference.

Now how extreme or minimal that variation is going to be is another question plus it may not necessarily be a specific change to the terps them selves but some other aspect of the plant.

What are your thoughts on that?

Not sure if I’m just really high, but I’ve kinda noticed plants do better together even if in pots.
