Early fade or lockout?

Hey Team, last few days the girls have been yellowing out. Week 9 of flower, first time with covered medium so I’ve been careful and concerned about overwatering – they’ve been drinking only about 60%-70% of what they drank last grow at this stage. Also this time they’ve faded really early… or did I screw something up?

They’re all clones from same mother, same nutrients I’ve used last couple of years and in coco – 50% recycled from last grow when it was fresh canna pro… and they’ve never faded before week 10-11 and even then it was a mild fade, slight colour change with yellowish tinge.

My mate says I should just grow it out.

    Any suggestions or tips?

They may have started to fade a bit soon but there is nothing you can do about it at this point. Let them finish.

Do you bump your daytime hours in the last 2 weeks?

How much time do you have left?

I haven’t bumped them in previous grows, but I’ve also added supplemental lights this and running the main light a bit higher to keep temps down – below 80f. – last grow in summer it was pretty hot in the there and my lung room is the garage & mostly uninsulated.

It’s coming into winter here in New Zealand so tempos much more stable and lower.

Also been supplementing and experimenting with work castings and raw molasses every other feed, which has resulted in much more pronounced and very clean terps smell. This is my 7th or 8th grow with this strain, I got a clone from a mate & we both grow the same strain and compare results, he’s now changed to Coco but he grows more plants a lot smaller and doesn’t train/scrog like I do. I pulled a little over 500g (1,2lb) from 2 plants last grow, he got 9Oz from 6. I flipped these three earlier cycle, due to change in season/ external temps.

I’ve decreased lights by 10 min a week since week 6 (still good ppfd/DLI with supplemental lighting and a couple of CO2 pads – for whatever they’re worth)

    Lights: ACI EVO6 / Ionbeam S16

    Temp/humidity:

Stable at 80f/60% day and 60f/ 60% night

My concern comes as far seems really early compared to the bud development, last grows the kolas were way bigger with still beautiful lush green leaves.

Pic is of previous grow at same stage fit comparison – plant on right is Coco, left is RDWC.

    Hence my concern

And as for time left, I harvest based on trichomes and world expect 2-3 weeks more, but there are not many visible trichomes comparatively… last grows I had beautiful trikes by now

Im a novice but I comparing the photos to my grow, and I was thinking you had maybe 4 weeks left and could supplement but not sure of it would benefit the final product.

Plants look good other than the early yellowing

Yeah, I’m still the novice here, have only really grown this one strain a few times over (joys of prohibition-land)

I would agree with 4 weeks left by eyeball measure, I’ll keep checking on them daily and take a closer look at trichomes.

I’ve learned from experience that it’s good to let them mature fully and not rush to chop

I’ve still got a few O left from last harvest, so I’m going to make sure these girls are well mature, just never came across the yellowing before and was panicking that I’d messed this grow up, almost as bad as my RDWC grow which has died after a power cut/surge which killed my air pumps doing the circulation and I didn’t notice till crispy leaves time…

It looks like you’ve got it dialed in.

I wonder if there wasn’t an issue with the old medium that needed to be overcome that stalled these plants.

I’m interested to see how they progress
