Structure is genetic. You can influence structure by manipulating certain hormones though. One way to induce foxtails early would to be done by using bloom boosters with biostimulants that signal the plant to mature too soon. If done too soon, bud sites will stretch to fill in causing calyx foxtails. Stable genetics will not herm but light leaks will cause vegetative foxtails to form out of calyx as it tries to reveg.

Hey thanks maestro you’re a genius if you remember I posted this plant not long ago it was the plant that I cloned and then put outside and shortly after it started flowering maybe it’s trying to revenge in the middle of flowering the only nutrients I have been using are grow dots and recharge think I will just keep it under the HPS light indoors under a 12-hour light cycle what do you think thanks brother

Definitely the heat. I had one in my greenhouse doing the same thing and put it inside under the light and it’s tightening up.

Sometimes when we start inside we don’t account for a crazy light schedule change. We are on 18 hours of light inside and we chop that way down putting them out too early. We are looking fir a monster veg but going from 18 to say 13-14 hours of light, some varieties shit their pants and go into flower. Then as the summer kicks in and the light period gets longer they try to reveg and get fucking whacko. Just a possibility.

I’m also experiencing a foxtailing plant. “Peach Gelato” bagseed. Growing outdoors in greenhouse. Are the odds of herming high?

I’ve grown a lot of Barney’s farms and it doesn’t take a lot to get them to produce some sort of flowering issues if you are not consistent or shock them in a positive way, believe it or not.

Whether you improve your lighting or you are a little too generous with a PK booster they always seemed to foxtail for me.

If you look at all of there promo images on the website you’ll see that 90% of the examples have some sort of foxtailing visible, maybe its a genetic thing?

I have just grown a Runtz Muffin from seed from Barney’s Farm and I’m on week one of flush. I think I have everything nailed on this lady, from the nutrients to the environmental conditions.

No signs of foxtails yet so I think I have it nailed.

Maybe it’s the inconsistencies that you have introduced that have stimulated the unwanted growth?

Just finished my grow with seeds from Barney’s Farms. I germinated 9, cloned them and passed them out to family and friends. I started them indoors and vegged them out and put them outdoors the week of April 26. I left them out for a week before I started the flowering cycle 12/12. All my seeds sprouted, no mold. I had one bud that had bud rot. Just 1. 😟 And that was after all those hot days in June a week of over 95+ temps for a few weeks. Over all I was very happy with my grow and Barney’s Farms this year. I did watch that video about seed banks and they talk about Barney’s Farm. All the strains look different so I’m not to sure of what the video points out. And course I have no way to verify what they talk about.
