Should I switch to Real Buckets?

    Hey what’s up fellow dgc!

I currently grow in coco in 2 gallon fabric pots, all hand watering.

Sometimes I end up chasing water, and I can’t leave my apartment for more than 36 hours at a time.

I’ve been looking into automated systems, and I like the real buckets for the simplicity and lack of power Input.

Im thinking about getting a 4 site for my 4×4, does anyone have experience with the system and bottled nutes?

I run canna a & b for base, along with a few additives from the new millennium line. And of course, recharge once a week!

I’m currently running two autos using The “real buckets”. They are pretty great if you need to be away, just fill the “res” and let it go for a few days if need be. Ive had no issues other than having to top water cal mag every other week or so but that’s more due to coco. GROW DOTS AND RECHARGE is really all you need.

I built my own slippers and am running coco in 2 and coco for the wick in a 3rd one all with grow dots and recharge. I would say go for it, especially Scotty’s real buckets as the reservoir and valve is already figured out and tested, that is the only challenge I’ve run into but I’m not chasing water at all

Yes, you should switch to Real Buckets… I’m very happy with them. You should also give Grow Dots a try, especially since some free samples of Grow Dots and Recharge will ship with the Real Buckets. Bottled nutes could work, but you’d have to have it really dialed in because there isn’t an easy way to remove the runoff. Grow Dots do play well with New Millenium additives.

Here’s my 4 autos in Real Buckets filling out a 4×4 wall to wall, day 56.

I run Real Buckets and have used Canna A & B with good results. You will get some flocculent in the bottom of the reservoir. I did need to pull the rez once during my run and clean it out so the ball valve worked properly.

My question is does using the real bucket increase or lower the humidity in the tent versus fabric pots.

If you keep your res and lines and float valve clean then you will love them. Once your plants at going full steam that res isn’t as large as you think and still needs filled fairly often

    Hey Brutha,

I just received my two pack of of the Real Buckets. Excited to try them out next run!

FYI; I asked Scotty about the option of adding Recharge to my Real Buckets and he said to NOT add them in the master bucket because it gets gross and eventually clogged.

he advised to just hand water it in with ZERO run off.

I’m running this system now. I hand water recharge and epsom salt once a week. @ 2.5 gr Recharge, and 1 Tbls Epsom Salt per gallon of water.
