I put an HLG Tomahawk 650 in my 4×4 and love it. You can connect it to your controller with an ACi plug if you want. I just run my lights on a simple timer switch. Make sure you get an extension cable (sold seperately) so you can mount the driver outside your tent.

I am a huge fan of HLG. I have 2 320 rpecs in the 4×4 currently, but there are many good lights out there that will grow the absolute dank! I just got a used growers choice 680 off ebay for $200. And I think it does a little better job at flowering than the HLG. Same plants look a little better under the GC. Floraflex has a newer light and it’s on the Buildasoil website. It’s around $.50 a watt! It’s getting much harder for companies to charge $1-2 a watt anymore.

Don’t rule out a something used alot of people use them for 1 or 2 grows and give up. Marketplace or Ebay. Also check out the floraflex Jeremy from buildasoil sells them I believe they are 700w and around $375.

I have a szhlux 500w from amazon and have been running it for a year now with great results. only 150 dollars and has a lot of cool features. has a built in timer and a sensor that will drop light bars based on temp. never used the timer or the temp sensor cuz I was too worried it would get too hot and push plants to flower but the light itself works great and for the price its a godsend.

Not sure if anyone has heard much about GrandMasterLevel LEDs, but I’m hearing and seeing a lot of really good reviews and the owner was just on FTS (FromTheStash Podcast) and he really seems to know his shit!

I agree with @Thickems and I’d say most of your budget should go to the light. As The
Real One says, “it’s the engine”. Maybe lights, and genetics. The rest you can gamble with if money is tight.

I had the hlg550r spec in my 4×4 which was good. I now have 2 4×4 tents both running ac infinity evo 6 lights, I highly recommend the evo series light. 4/20 and Black Friday were the best deals I found yet plus I stacked coupons. Maybe 7/10 they will run a sale
