On a 4′ x 5 ‘ tent, what size of charcoal filter will I need to have no smell? 4, 6 or 8 incher?

I use the 8″. It was originally purchased for a 4’x4′ tent.

You would be fine with a 6 inch but an 8 inch would give you more airflow!

Sometimes overkill is better.

The loudest plants will need 6-8″ at least. Bigger the better.

I use a 6 inch in a 4×4 and it totally does the job for a year now.

I got a 4×4 with a 4” but it’s a veg tent so I use no filter. I got 5x5s with 6” in-line size fans. They work wonderfully to get negative pressure in the tents. I never used a carbon filter but once and it worked beautifully. So much so I took them off lol
