I live a off grid lifestyle about a hr from the nearest store. I have done 2 outdoor grows, I vegged under terrible lights just to get the started for outdoors. I have a lot of things going on in life (animal care a such above gear. I personally truck my own water in because i dont even have a well. I have been gifted some old blurple lights. I am absolutly aware they are no longer a great choice. HOWEVER my choices are blurples or nothing! My outdoor grow had lost a few plants and im looking to make sure i dont go dry. My question is how much worse performance are the blurples really? I know growers have used them in the past and gotten results just like other lighting. I have a good solar system I built myself and have no concerns as far as my power goes. I have just been thinking about how i would find myself no posting photos and such because I’m aware that EVERYONE would roast me about my lights. I’m moving in june and plan to do things correctly then i just need to get some smoke going for now. Advice wpuld be super helpful these things dont even have dimmers lol.

I’ve seen blurples used with decent results. Don’t expect very big or dense buds but you can definitely harvest something to smoke on for now.

Your just using them in veg right? Tell you get them out doors.

I have used them out in my garage on garden seedling and clones. Just don’t hang it right over them like it’s a t-5 light. Can burn them.

Roast ya? Bro this is the DGC

We here to help and support each other, to help make it a stress free grow. Helps to have friends even if they’ve gotten up on the wrong side this morning. Coffee and a joint breakfast is way to help the sun come up.

Smoking helps the sun come up 😁

    Yes I stole 🤪 😔 😌

For those who got it lol

Dude, I’m still putting my grows together. Limited funds and mobility makes me use what I can. Thing only half built but it’s running.

I was you all the best

    And happy growing

    I’m old not Absolute 🤣🤣🤣

Its gonna be 4 of the lights for a 5×5 indoor grow. I plan to also use them to veg some plants for a outdoor closer to summer. I have never done a indoor grow and for the most part i have what i need. I mostly wanna get at least one indoor off for some extra smoke. Veg some plants early indoor get em outside, light dep and pull one more harvest before i move. Im unsure how long or where to get smoke once i move (other then dispo which isnt as good and over priced). I

I have seen some respectable harvest with blurpees but they werent conserned with spining the meter.

Its going to depend on the specs of the lights. Theres going to be a big defernece between two 100watt lights and two 600 watt lights. If the specs are unknow your just going to have to run it Id run it any way if your solar system can handle it.

If they dont produce flower thats up to your standard, use them to grow out some mother plants over winter and youll be able to get a decent amount of cuts ready in the spring

They dont have any info on them, looks like the tags came off a while ago. Looking at size and such i think they are 100watt i have 4 of them. I planned to use the photone app and a watt meter to try and figure out what im working with. My solar has taken everything i have thrown at it.

I use a blurple for veg in one tent, and while light led’s in other tents. The plants under the blurple actually veg much better! It’s less efficient, is heavy, and has fans…but grows some really nice plants in veg phase. I switch over to white lights for flower now though. Seems to deliver more bang for the buck.

I will be running blurples in veg and flower, i have solar so in a way power isnt a issue. Im working with what i got which isnt a lot lol. Did your bud still come out pretty good when using them for flower? I normally just get them started and health inside just enough to move them into a hoop house outside.

The plants flowered under the blurple produce very respectable bud for me. I would think that, as long as enough ppfd out of the lights, you should be fine. I like the white lights I run now much better though. If you are using the blurples, it’s really helpful to have a regular light in the space as well so you can visually inspect the plants periodically. Much easier to see issues early.
