Lowes 5 gallon buckets

vs 5 gallon food grade Amazon buckets?

We consume so much plastic now a days, I’m wondering is it that much of a big deal to use Lowes brand non-food grade buckets as 2nd bucket on my diy sip buckets. Plants will be in food grade buckets but they white. So I have 2 dozen black Lowes 5 gallon buckets from my dwc in the past.

Question is, should I just the black Lowes buckets reservoir bucket on my system or use the food grade ones?

If they are made of the same plastic, yes. I forget the name, but it’s the bucket with the 4 in the center of the recycling symbol ♻️.

I used them for brewing for years and years with no ill effects. The only difference would be that mine are green and come from Menards.

The Lowes ones are not food grade
