    looks like a leaf hopper. common oudoor pest around me in the southeast. they are crafty and will see you commin and circle around the plant and hide.

      Sounds right. Thanks. I caught it, and It kept circling the jar every time I turned it to get a better look. And it really did hop off the rim of the jar.

      Im guessing I brought it in on my clothing. As I do a good amount of garden and yard work.

        they can fly but like to play the hide game first. ill shake my outdoor plants to make em show up. that is a pretty one though hehe

          I didnt have the heart to kill him. lol Got him outside for nature to deal with

    Also look for white fluffy nymphs and brown moth looking adults. Might be a different type in the southern hemisphere but that’s how ours look. They can be a pest outdoors but not as bad as the more commonly spoken about mites and thrips.
