Candles for CO2?

  • Just a point of discussion here…

If you were to put a long lasting candle inside your grow tent (away from everything), would it provide enough CO2 to increase the level inside the tent? Has any DGC tried this? Anyone monitor with a candle burning? Obviously not exhausting the air.

  • Interesting 🤔. I’ve considered this, but I’m afraid of burning my house down. Lol. Another worry I have is what the burnt wax in the air would do to my carbon filters and stomata. Could it clog both? I was recently looking at small co2 generators that run on propane tanks (grill size). Same fire concerns but maybe a little safer?

    • Closed stomata is my first thought. The flame isnt blue. That means its dirty, creates smoke and soot. The plants natural defense would be to close stomata when oxygen levels go toxic. Closed stomata, no use of co2, no transpiration, no growth.
