I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving if you celebrate it. OK, I mainly grow in soil cuz it’s where I started, however I began running some trials and practicing using Tupur from Royal Gold. I’m getting a pretty good hang of it but here’s my question. Everything I’ve read or heard says to water to 10-20% runoff to flush out built up salts. I really wanna buy a 4 plant Real Bucket system. Scotty swears by coco in them but there’s never runoff so wouldn’t you build up excess salts? If not, how so? Also, will soil work successfully in Real Buckets? Thanks.

  • If your grow style means you want to clear/flush out at the end.. like any sane person should lol…then sounds like they’re not the product for you. Especially the bigger the sizes. Scotty’s products seem to ignore this process that’s been around and proven for YEARS but whatever each tot here own….

But saying that I’m sure you can disconnect the pipes and water through by hand like normally at the end…it would just come out the pipe hole?…..

But I’m totally with you, I dont even subscribe to the bigger the roots the bigger the fruit bs (which was clearly thought of by grow shops or someone who wants to sell you more of everything) haha ooh bigger pot, more soil, bigger stands, bigger dishes MORE NUTRIENTS hahaha and has been disproven time and time again as it’s just not necessary by the Dutch professionals and with auto watering and reservois not necessary..I see so many people with tiny plant and oversized pots it’s hilarious

so If you like clean smoke and the process of flushing give you more confidence in that, then fit you grow style to suit.. you would want smaller more manageable pot sizes anyway imo and clearly no slow releases fertiliser

    • The people who say it doesn’t change anything guarantee grow in stupid size pots that would take a imperial ton of water to flush through…and like a 2ft plant haaahahahahahahahahaha

      • i grow 4.5′ to 6′ plants in 3 gallons pot feeding once a day in coco. i had only 1 strain in the past 6 years or so that might benefit having a slightly bigger pots.

      • I run 165 gallon bed, plants are over 5 foot round and over a lb every time… never did that in a 5 gallon.

        • i do between 1/4 to 1/2 pound per plants (strain related) with 3 gallons pot

    • White ash is in the dry not a flush. Flushing is outdated broscience.

      • agree, usually doing wet trim will ”splash” micro droplets of chlorophylle all over the bud making the smoke harsher and ash darker

      • Nope, it’s not you’re wrong haha…and I already suggested to the dude for the DGC cup to recommend growers say whether they have do it or not..as I don’t want to smoke chemical shit…or waste my time smoking chemical shit..and THEN you guys can put it to a real test couldn’t you..money where mouth is as they say

Sad thing is they talk so much bs on their shows I wouldn’t be surprised if they manipulated it just to get the result they want hahahaha no confidence on that side of things anymore with Scotty especially

        • Why you here? Now you want to talk shit on dude and scotty and the crew… wrong move @calikush

      • And you both proved my theory right as you don’t think it works and use stupid size beds or pots indoors..so you can’t do it properly anyway..thanks haha

        • You need to go educate yourself and try to be more respectful. Beside dgc shows there is plenty of studies that prove you wrong about flushing. Show us how good of a grower you are because your profile is empty and you sound like a lil toxic kids looking to argue non sense….

        • I can outgrow you anyday cali, get your education up and stop giving bad knowledge.

        • Papa uses 3 gallons, grows bigger than you, i use a bed grow a 5×5 in a single plant. We are not wrong, and we dont flush. you think you know better.

          • Agree, pot size depends on so many things, media type, nutrients/food, how frequently you want to feed them, size of plants, topping or not, lollipoping or not, etc. For exemple organic grow will for sure need a bigger pot size might need double the size vs synthetic nuts to be sur all nutrients is present enough and available for the plants to uptake it etc

    • Go ahead and tell them they are wrong. Up your game @calikush stop telling bad knowledge.

      • I don’t care one bit about what the jugdealers have to say, I call them out just the same!

        • Degreed in horticulture, you 🤡🤡🤡

  • i grow in coco for about 6 years, i never do run off. If your nuts are dialed and are good quality like canna product for exemple, you do not need runoff. Runoff is to clear/fix feeding mistakes. I do not have salt build up. None of the big lp producer who use coco do runoff. Runoff can make more trouble then good thing, Humidity will raise, wasting 10-20% of your feeding mix is costly, risk of overfeeding, etc

  • I agree with papa raoul. When used proper no runoff. No flushing. People overfeed alot and build up extra in the media, its all preventable. Soil will work, need a light fluffy mix and slow release nutrients. People start mixing styles and nutes, start adding extras… this is where the buckets go wrong, any garden goes wrong by throwing balance out.

  • Sorry @calikush but the others are correct. Flushing is an old stoner’s tale. I switch to water only for the last 10 days to 2 weeks, but that is just because I like to see the nice colours, and I am cheap and don’t want to spend any more on bottles than I have to.

    • So then you ARE doing a form of flushing. So once again thanks for proving my point!

    • Like that the sillest response I’ve seen with all due respect growcat..’flushing is fake’ oh ‘but I do a 2 week flush for colours’ come onnnnn

      • Apparently, you don’t know what flushing means. Yet, here you are, shooting off your mouth.

        • I sent them video of science, they dont want to learn it or view it. They will never change… 🤡🤡🤡

        • No all you guys prove is that this place is clique AF ..and if you don’t ‘toe the party line’ then you’re not welcome hahahah PATHETIC. Everything I’ve said is completely provalke. But I held up mirror to your inadequacies and your OWN arrogance. And you all cried like babies 🤣 It was easy. All I had to do was give you enough rope 😂

      • Show us your garden and what you grew

        • You’ve already ‘loved’ most of my pictures. ,,,😆 I tried to remove my account 2 weks and it wouldn’t let me, so I deleted everything. See my my memory is photographic lol and I’m not a dumbass. Btw the cringe video “you’re the best’ was actually meant for when you did that CRINGE AS F monologue about how you treat you plants like athletes 🤢🤢 but it works for better for both you and thikems 🤣

          • I’ll help you out, go in your profile, membership section click on the 3 vertical dots select cancel. lol toxic kid, go fix your daddy issues. Your dumb asf, pretty sure you have a miserable life, stock in a lil boytoy body doing is smartass on the internets. Your mother gonna a man before you lol

          • For someone with this much hate for dgc, you come every day on the forum to troll for toxic attention. simpboy karma will deal with you, you lost enough of my time.

            • *passes joint to @Papa_-_Raoul * you have done your duties, lets medicate!

            • yup i just blocked him, no more time to waste with toxic brat

      • Yeah right outside grows 2 weeks before harvest the earth flush it self …….

If you were talking about cutting some additive prior to harvest you would be right but you just show us the lack of knowledge you have and how childish you are.

        • Plants stop uptaking no matter what is in the media. Trees, shrubs, plants, anything in nature during a season called fall. Go into a dormant state for whats called winter, seeds dropped, leaves loss, etc. I mean nature isnt real right? This is the color change end of life cycle whatever else included. Now we get into the ash. A wet log burns black, a dry log burns white. Nothing to do with nutrients and how it ended life. We dry our firewood, we season or hardwoods, this is for clean burning. White ash is in moisture content. @calikush Dont be the 🤡 trying to make up something else.

          • @Thickems this person is probably just trolling. Probably doesn’t even have a garden and that’s why they don’t post it. We’ve seen your garden, and everyone else’s but not this calikush person’s. There’s no proof it exists.
