Growing Cookies Gelato auto from royal queen seeds, Using autopots with Athena pro. Temps during lights hit 82 max and when off sits around 72. Humidity is around 55-60. This plant is on week 11 from sprout. It seems like it just stalled out. I was running a 18/6 light schedule until around 2 weeks ago i switched it to 12/12 to see if it would help it move along. I planted two of them al the same time, the other one is almost ready for harvest with beautiful thick dense buds.

Is there something going wrong or something I can do to help it? Maybe just let it go and wait and see what happens. This plant is huge now, fills out the 4×4. actually started to grow past the lights!!

I’m not an auto guy but are you using any co2? Maybe daytime temps are too high? Also sometimes bitches be crazy. It took me multiple attempts to get a certain strawberry cough right she was too sensitive to nitrogen and had to learn how to tailor the nutrition to make her tighten up. What is the normal run time for that strain?

They say 10-12 weeks after sprouting.

She’s probably not gonna do what you want her to. That shit happens. I had 1 plant out of last harvest that was too loose. I gave it to my friend. He made infused butter with it and was really good. Maybe someone else with more experience will have some better news. Did you run any other plants with her?

Yes, I planted two at the same time in. 4×2. The one with issues I moved to the 4×4 because it out grew the 4×2. Here’s a pic of the other plant that was planted at the same time.

Awesome. She looks good. Sorry about the other plant. I know it’s a bummer but as long as you learned something it’s not a mistake it’s a lesson. Good luck on your next run. Have you picked any strains out yet?

I have a few outside in the greenhouse. Blueberry og feminized from Barney’s. I have grown that strain a few times with good results.

I think I am done with autos and royal queen. This is the second this year that dropped out. Any good strains you recommend?

Yeah I’m not a fan of autos. As far as recommendations anything from” lovin in her eyes”. Her website finally lets you buy the seeds from her. And the pack is higher count than NASC. I really like Guava Gator and Cajun mints from her. I’ve run a lot of ethos genetics and so far all have been better than advertised. Really like the Big Detroit energy, it’s got a funky sandalwood terp that last for hours. Good high too. That plant puts out big time. I’ve also had some promising stuff from raw genetics. If you want the real strawberry cough you’ll have to find seeds from Humboldt CSI, they have the Kushman cut. That plant is a bit of a bitch but the terps are insane and high is clear and floaty. Really good but it took me 4 plants to get her right. I’ve been running some stuff from greenpoint seed co. Seeds are cheap but so far no problems and getting nice looking stuff already.

Sounds like it just vegged longer. This is what I hope for with every auto I grow. If I can get 5-6 weeks of veg I’m thrilled. Some packs stay close, sometimes 1 of those seeds will veg WAY LONGER than the rest. For example, I grew a pack of amnesia haze autos last year, 2 finished in 80 days but the third took 120. Had the same issue growing into the lights and had to put a big bend in her mid flower.

Exactly. I’ve got one at five weeks right now with no sign of flower & I couldn’t be happier. I was really able to train her out.

You think I should just leave it and let her try to finish? Or cut the loss… it’s really big for an auto.

Defoliate the bottom third of the plant and definitely let the bad boy grow!!!!

She’s huge! I wouldn’t chop her. Probably would’ve taken some of the lower growth off though, before flower. Maybe some under canopy lights would help with that. Don’t push the nutrients too hard and give it a few more weeks

Sometimes this happens. Could happen with any cultivar. I wouldn’t blame that on RQS. Too many examples of success exist here over the last few months with their strains. I have had seeds not give me what I wanted but RQS is inexpensive white label seeds. 4-5 bucks on bogo. I have grown both photo and auto and have never been disappointed. Their northern lights auto will give you a half pound of good bud consistently. Kalidog is very terpy with that old school chem. Their in-house Orion F1 is a dank Blue dream /haze cross that’s buzz last for hours and harvest 69 days from germ. Growing is full of highs and lows.

What a beast! Autos this big i always open up more. Defoliate them as they grow, get bud sights opened. A lot of that lower growth could have been removed as it was growing. Energy would have been focused on that top canopy. This could have to do with the chonkyness. Let her finish as needed. Be proud of this 1!

Thanks for all the information and support. I am gonna let her ride and see what happens. I’ll trim her up some more and we will see what happens.
