pvegas50ParticipantNovember 25, 2025 at 7:52 pmI use distilled water with a EC of about 1-2. When nutrients are added the EC spikes to like 1200+. I know adding water will lower it, but it also lowers my ppm. How can i keep my EC low and my ppm to remain the same? I can’t seem to get that concept. First time using Coco, and having a schedule using Nutrients.

Not really possible, they are essentially a measurement for the same thing. The higher the ppm, the higher the the electrical conductivity of the water.
Meters actually only measure the EC and then calculate an estimate for the ppm based upon how much calcium they think is in the water!
Seems like a decent EC though. Really depends on the plants stage of growth as well.
Happy growing and Goodluck on this first coco grow!

If you are following the feed schedule you should be good, keep monitoring ph. You have a clean water to start, only adding what schedule gives you. To help prevent build up dont feed every watering. I fed every 4 in coco and never locked out. Big thing is dont rely on the paper, read the plants. Daily watch of changes, they will let you know when they arent happy.

i always used coco, i have a well, my water by itself is around 900 ppm before mixing my nutrients in. I do not mesure my ppm anymore. It all depend what constitute your ppm in first place. Start with half dosage of nutrients look at how your plants react, they’ll tell you if they need more or less. If plant look good and healthy don’t bother with your water ec/ppm just give the plants what they need
