god damn HUMIDITY

all day and all night tents are at 80 to 90 %

i cant seem to get them down

vent directly from home hvac , furnace has been running (so house should be dry)

all fans (vent and intake ) running on temp switches

all tents vent into lung room , but intakes are directly off of hvac ( not lung room)

i do not have a humidity issue in my home

    so WHY ?

  • Something’s come loose some point in the system? What’s the humidity in the room the tents in?

  • the lung room sits between 65 an 70 give or take depending if hvac is running

  • Hooked to hvac as an intake is not utilizing the lung room. I would change that first. Constant exhaust not on and off, even if its low and steady. Constant air circulation in tent. Use lung room as climate control, use intake and exhaust to move that controlled air through the tent. The grow will evaporate and build up, keep that pushing out the tent. My grow is usually about 20%rh above my house humidity without any control. Also want to add sensor location, the walls of my grow will be lower than in the canopy.

    • my lung room is my basement and isnt where i want my intake coming from . just exhaust to it .

like i said ive been doing it this way for years no problems , all of my tents are wet inside

      • Check filters, make sure coils are clean, make sure condensate isnt clogged. If this just started as about same time furnace use started, i would say something with the furnace is doing it.

  • Have you got a humidifier on your furnace that maybe has a water line that’s open? I’ve got one on mine and we have it turned to off with the flap set to closed also. My house furnace is running & set on 70f & I’ve got 32%rh on both levels. We run the furnace fan 24/7/365 for air flow. If you’re getting that high rh, something is way off. Recheck that your duct fan is not installed backwards & isn’t pulling your lung room air into the tent, rather than actually exhausting tent air out of the tent. I’d start there.

  • What are you running as a sensor for your humidity levels? I had similar readings and after I tried a different humidistat it showed that my spider farmer sensor was reading 20% higher that the actual tent was.

    • i have cloudforge humidifiers on all of my tents , using their sensors (pretty accurate)

hell i have to leave my tents open during the day to dry them out

    • and the inside of tents are soaked

  • If it isn’t a sensor issue, I’d isolate the room as the lung room and close the loop with a dehumidifier in the lung room. I can’t see why that wouldn’t solve the issue. What are the temps at? By any chance is this set up in the basement of the home? I’ve seen 10 degree temp difference in a basement really attract the moisture from the rest of the house.

    • tryn to avoid buying 5 dehumidifiers lol

      • only 1 dehumidifier should be more then enough to fix you issue. 1x dehumidifier should be able to keep humidity in check for about 20-25 5 foot tall plant….. You can try to defoliate them to bring humidity down a bit too

        • one wont work , its my basement and im not drawing air in from there. i pull it from my entire house ,

its got to be an intake issue , im getting ready to go find it here shortly,

i just dont get it , if my house is at 50 to 60 rh and my intake is directly off my house , it should be correct

          • Ther air that your pulling in from the rest of the house, is this air warmer than the air in your basement or your grow space? Sounds like your pulling air thats 50-60% rh but at a warmer temp than your basement/grow space. Warmer air holds more moisture than cooler air. So when you introduce that air to cooler air your getting a spike in humidity because the cooler air holds less moisture.

  • Does your house seem humid? The sensor is broken

  • this is an Inkbird detector

    pretty accurate

  • this is outside the tent practically next to my intake

  • ok

    here is control

I have upstairs in my bedroom

    3x5x7 tent

inside is wet humidity is steady at 89%w/light on

    temp inside is 72.5 deg.

out side in lung room (this tent not hooked up to HVAC) is 67 deg and 55.9 rh

now vent fans set at on 78 of 77 flower tent

    lights at 12/12

    and girls look great

    I NEED TO CONTROL HUMIDITY!!!!!!
