I just heard you can use honey instead of chemical rooting aids? Has anyone done this successfully?

  • You can, i have, a pinch of cinnamon helps also. I prefer aloe the most.

  • You can supplement rooting hormone or wait for the plant to make it’s own ‘chemicals’. Honey is antimicrobial and is not as good as using aloe as some honey sources can have impurities that will harm plants.

  • Aloe is a better choice. That’s what the rooting gel i have is made with. Works good.

  • Yes I just did 1 clone cause I heard the same & I have Bee’s it rooted so it dose work&it the clone did hives so

  • You definitely can use honey as a rooting agent, but I’ve found aloe works better than anything else, yes even cloning agents. I like to have a cup over fresh made aloe water, just blend a leaf of aloe Vera with water in a blender. This is to soak the cuttings in before planting. The next step is with a second leaf of aloe stick your cuttings into the cut end of the aloe moving it up and down getting the end of your cutting goopy then plant, repeat for each cutting. Just a side note adding something life Mykos and azos to the goopy end before planting can help. Just some added knowledge about aloe to those that don’t know its full potential in the garden. Besides being a great rooting agent, it’s also a wonderful anti toxin. Aloe Vera also speeds up the Photosynthesis
