Just for Fun and of course to breed someday a bit for more Fun. ^^

But i have a single random seedling, i dont know the name/strain but and i would like to keep the genetics because it was a really nice plant.

I hope to clone it if its female. 🌱😍

But if it turns out to be a male in the worst case… is there a chance to harvest the pollen and safely store it away untill i found a good match?

    🌱🤦‍♂️

    Storing Your Cannabis Pollen

Some growers choose to let their pollen dry for up to 48 hours before storing it for long-term use. If you’re planning on drying your pollen, spread out the pollen with a brush across your parchment paper and place it in a dimly-lit room with no air movement, temperatures between 65º and 75º F and humidity levels between 30 and 60 percent. When it’s dry enough, you can funnel your pollen into an airtight storage container. Keep it away from moisture and sunlight and at room temperature

You HAVE to dry your pollen out. IF you don’t, it becomes ruined. you also have to take out all the plant clusters from the pollen powder. If you leave those in, they will ruin the pollen as well. I have used pollen that was terrible stored for almost 4 years and it worked. That’s the oldest pollen i have gotten to take. I left my pollen out for 4/5 days to dry, after the initial day of harvest and picking out all the plant material. So roughly a week.

Does this mean you should sift the pollen with bubble bags or something? I’m interested in knowing more about how to do this as well.

Pollen degrades very quickly. But, I have kept vacuum sealed containers of dry pollen in the freezer for up to 2 years and it was still viable although not as potent. Maybe 1/4 of the amount of seeds. It’s honestly easier to keep a father plant.
