I need some help with my plants
Posted by r0ck_str0ng0 on March 29, 2025 at 5:41 pmI have 3 plants going right now in veg, they’re about 4 weeks old. I’m having some trouble with the leafs turning brown and yellow and stunted growth. The leafs are all standing straight up as well like a V on all plants. I was suggested to ask here before i do any damage by accident.

Have you been ph ing the water and or giving nutrients. It looks like possible nutrient burn or lock out. The leaves pointing up is ok that’s called praying, Usually for me that means they need water soon. But i still newer so not 100% on the issue

Was this plant started indoors or outdoors? Is this plant outside? Direct sun may be the main issue. It may need some shade to acclimate. The soil looks too dry so that’s why the leaves are showing probably damage. The leaves are also a little unhappy with the environment. Looks like it’s a bit hot causing the leaves to taco.

The plants are indoor. Growing under LED. I have ph’d my water to about 6.5-7. I’ve only given them water and a little bit of food a few days after they started showing yellow thinking it might be a lack of food. It wasn’t a lot though, maybe 1/4 of what was supposed to be there. I could defn see it being a bit warm, I should probably put a fan on them.

I am also going to raise my lights tomorrow to see if that also helps. I appreciate all the advice so far! I’m a newb. Only grew once before and it was pretty straight forward. Wasn’t great bud but it finished

That looks way too dry. My guess is the burn is from getting too dry. Is it Fox Farm soil? Also, if you have good tap water, just sitting it out for 24 hrs to get the chlorine out is a good idea. You’ll get the hang of it eventually.

Not fox farm soil. I will try to give them some good watering today ( not drown them ) but thanks for the heads up

Fox farm is fine. Just looks like it to me. I use it when i run out of my coots mix. When you get too dry, it disrupts the water to nutrient balance. Think of it like a full cup of water with 25 grams of salt in it. If half the water evaporated, you’ll have half a cup of water with 25 grams of salt and it would be extra salty. See what I mean? Hopefully I explained that well.

Check your leaf surface temp, looks hot.waxy looking surface.burnt tips. I would flush this plant with Recharge and lower the light by 50% for 3-5 days look for recovery in new growth burnt leaves will not recover, my 2 cents.

what is recharge, and I don’t have the ability to adjust light levels on these LED’s

Not sure if I can get that here in Canada. At least not on the amazon web site

How are you getting your PH readings. Ro water is very hard to PH correctly. There’s nothing there to read if that makes sense. The ph indicator liquid is best but it’s only good for clear water. If your using a ph pen then those have to be calibrated at every feeding. You may have more than 1 issue chasing you around.

I’m using Ph test strips and to correct it using small amounts lemon juice to bring it into range

I just want to thank everyone for their help. They seem to be doing a LOT better now.

This plant looks dry and burnt. PH problem, lockout…who knows. Definately not happy. Maybe too much sun and too little water.
