I pop and twist my plants from time to time. I like to grow different strains together, when one starts to stretch beyond the others, I widen the canopy coverage by popping and twisting or using a training clip. The clip has far less stress on the plant in my experience. If you’re going at it for your first time, just remember less is more don’t get too aggressive or you could break the branch completely. If that happens, chalk it up as a learning curve no big deal it will recover.

Keep super glue and tape on you, maybe even toothpicks as splints in case you get a salvageable break beyond what was intended.

Thanks for the advice. If your still in veg will the pop and twist slow that branch down enough for others to catch up but also take off again or is it stunted hard. I usually super crop if I run into problems. I’m thinking it might just slow it down a bit so it doesn’t take off on me. I’m a week and a half from flip.

Pop and twist from the main stem outward firmly grip between thumb and index finger at top and bottom for the section and gently twist until it pops, don’t expect the top 1, 2 nodes of each stem to pop. Use recharge on your next watering. You will notice stronger noticeably thicker branches in 48hrs Good luck!
