Re veg 18/6 light cycle.

Why is my re veg plant throwing pistols like it’s starting to flower when it’s under 18/6 light cycle? Potential herm? She literally just started her new growth/ new branch sites about 5 days ago and now it’s showing flower production on the new growth. Any theories would be greatly appreciated! First ever re veg. Came from a bag seed that was planted to late into the summer so I brought the tiny flowered plant inside for the winter to try a re veg.

Revegging can take up to 3 or 4 months for all the hormones and everything to settle back into place. Rasta Jeff does 18/6 for his last 1 or 2 weeks in flower, so it’s going to take much longer than a week or two for your plant to exhibit normal growth. You’re gonna get a lot of weird shaped leaves until hormones are back to normal as well. Just be patient.

Another fine example of me missing out on the important stuff. Total missed the re-veg part

If I get a herm due to a little stress then I’m culling it anyway. Don’t have time for weakness with my limited grow space. That’s just my hot take. I started playing with a 3/1 light cycle recently for max photosynthesis on an auto recently and so far it’s loving it. I may move my whole veg to that eventually. And again if anything herms it’s gotta go!

i am not doing it to keep a good strain. Couple of their sister seeds popped some seeds in my outdoor grow this summer but it could have been from a wild hemp plant in the area or a neighbors male plant that pollenated them but either way, it’s my first re veg simply for training purposes only. Learning the re veg process the first time on a plant I don’t care about so much. I am hoping to eventually get into breeding, cloning and monster cropping but for now I’m just learning the ways. Thank you for your experienced knowledge tho!

HERMS ARE A GOOD THING! never toss a plant because it herms… Fact: Chem91 was bagseed (possible herm), Superskunk hermed like a mofo, which is why the first Diesel was a mistake from a hermed plant. Cookies was a hermed bagseed. And that’s just to name a few, as there are many other famous genetics that exist because of herming “mistakes.” Just because it herms, doesn’t mean it’s bad genetics. Herming is the plant’s natural defense against extinction.

I disagree and the inbreeding in cannabis will eventually lead to more and more unstable genetics. For a small medical grow like I have a Hermed crop means I may not have enough meds to last my wife as long as she needs in between harvests And for a larger grower that can mean wasted nutrients, electricity, time and labor because they can’t sell seeded cannabis on an open market.. Herming is a weakness if it’s only subjected to mild stress and you can keep the cookies. Thanks no thanks.

The fact is this isn’t the 90s anymore. We have breeders and we have free open access and ethical and stable breeding practices are well known and available to everyone. There is no need to breed your bagseed anymore. And to give that out to the public knowing it has allot of instability is unnecessary.

First of all, you give breeders way too much credit. Second, the OP was talking about revegging a plant that he got from bagseed.

    Reveging 101:

    1. Take clone

    2. Grow until you have enough nodes to take a 2nd clone

    3. Take clone

    4. Grow that on out as well, until you can take a 3rd clone

    5. Use the 3rd clone as normal

This is why it’s always good to take clones right at the start of flower, or no later than say the start of week 2 of flower. That way you aren’t delayed by the reveg time.
