SmokalottaPOTamusParticipantNovember 25, 2025 at 2:25 pmWhat’s up DGC?! Happy DANKsgiving Eve-Eve!
So I just received my Real Buckets today, & I was wondering (for those that have them) what the best layout would be for my 2×4(and is your controller bucket like mine-pics attached) ? Would running them in a straight line be best? 2 buckets + controller bucket in the tent > the res right outside, using the bottom vent port on the right side to feed the tubing thru?
I’m open to ANY & ALL suggestions on how YOU run things with your Real Buckets. I’m pretty pumped to have these finally, AND my new beans just popped so I’ve got Romscotti(Romulan x Biscotti by Romulan Genetics) & Midnight Mousse(PowerPoint x Modified Mousse by Threes Genetics) that’ll be going in them once their ready! LFGrow!!
Thanks in advance for your help growmies! Much 🫶🏻

Happy Danksgiving right back to you. The Realbuckets use the “water seeks its own level” principal my plumber Dad taught me as a kid. The layout of the buckets doesn’t matter. you can put the controller bucket anywhere you want inside the tent as long as the float connects directly to the reservoir. Thanks for the support and let me know if I can help.

Thank you for such an amazing product(& showing 🫶🏻 to the DGC producers with that discount!)@scottyreal ! I’m blown away by the quality of these buckets & setup was really easy once I knew that the layout didn’t matter. I’m stoked to drop the ladies I just popped into these mamma-jammas once their roots are ready! Any tips/tricks on filling the inserts? I’ll be using Mother Earth 70/30 coco/perlite. Any & all other tips/tricks would be much appreciated growmies!

Put valves on every pot, the resivoir and everywhere. A bag of 10 is like $15 on Amazon 1/2″od. Then you can clean each part without affecting the others.

my setup. i have extra tubing for a service loop on each. i cut a small hole in the bottum of the tent to let the tubing through.

I believe your biggest factor is the whole system needs one flat level surface. Going up through a hole and back down to floor will change water levels. The rez to controller bucket i believe is ok though. This is what scotty based the design off of, coming from another plumber like his dad 🤙

Also like to add if the rez is elevated off the ground to keep cool or anything, this can increase water pressure do to gravity. This could force the float and water level slightly higher. A minor adjustment in the float valve to lower the level is all needed.
