I have never done it but I remember the first plant I grew with good genetics. I immediately stopped planting un trusted seed sources and learned that good genetics are actually not that hard to find nowadays. I live in a state that it is legal to grow 6 per person and 12 per household, so to me it is easier to just go buy new clones or a pack of new seeds to pop then trying to reveg

Clone like normal when it roots plant it and in a few weeks it’ll look like a mutant, few weeks later you’ll see regular growth. Cut back or clone after

I have done it a few times. I ran 1 plant 3 times to see if could keep it. Still have clones from that plant.. I know exactly where you are coming from. Here are two ways I did it:

Harvested the plant except for a lower section with small leaves not just popcorn buds. You want green. Carefully cut off small buds, if any, leaving leaves only.

Left it overnight to make sure it didn’t just die.

If the bottom section with green leaves looks alive enough, cut the stalk 1/2 inch above highest green leaves and cover cut stalk with a fresh piece of frog tape or painters tape, make sure it’s sealed and trim excess carefully.

*tip 1- You don’t want your re-veg to happen too high up.

*tip 2- It’s always better to look for a node, junction or knuckle that might spring forth multiple tops to grow or use as clones.

*tip 3- it is important to clean up areas you cut on the stalk that might house insects or other funk. Do not let cut pieces hollow out, cut them back cleanly.

SOIL

At this point the soil should be depleted and / or flushed after harvest. That is ok to start re-veg at 18/6 light, and plain water. At the fist sign of growth , diagnose the soil needs so you can grow it out or take a clone and start fresh.

New growth will look odd and be mostly one bladed leaves of different shapes. Teardrop shaped then a blade.. Don’t worry. After a node or two it will normalize to usually a weird 3 bladed leaf. Take clones after you see 5 bladed leaves. When I took clones with 3 bladed leaves it only grew 3 bladed leaves for a long time.

THE SECOND WAY

You can do it without cutting the stalk if you have room to train it horizontally (after cutting all the buds off.) Put it in 18/6 light and the new shoots should come up vertically from the horizontal stalk. If it won’t bend all the way, you can bow it. Just think about your lighting situation before starting too tall for your space. This way I just let it grow and flower. It had new shoots at almost all nodes.

Leave a few bottom nodes/bud. The process takes 4-6 weeks after flipping to veg schedule.

I’m in flower from a clone that I took in flower now and it’s my best plant. They can look a little wonky and it takes them a little while to revert back to veg…. Honestly I’d take more than one cut if you can afford it. Good luck 👍🏼

Revenging is easy, it may take a while, but if you have room it’s more effective than cloning a flower then revenging.

Just leave one Bud on one branch (like pictured) and put it back in your veg tent. If you want to accelerate things repot the plant so you can have a boost of root growth which will speed up the process.

i tried it a couple times this last grow when pruning. 2 of the early flowering (week 2-3) clippings cloned fine, gave them to a friend after 3 weeks when roots poked out of the peat moss starter plug. They grew ok but did try to start budding again early, his lights are not intense as mine. He is happy with them though they will produce again.

Late flower (with flush), I tried to reveg the clippings as I took them (weeks 7-9) I think they were already weaked from the flushing or just late life cycle, I tried to reveg 7 clippings in both peat and aeroclone nothing even tried to root. the leaves would yellow in like 1-1.5 weeks they didnt fight for life much. Finally tried to reveg the parent plant once the chop was done just for fun left as many leaves on as I could, repotted it to give it more room for growth, nada.

Not sure if this is what you meant exactly but I had a plant outside and brought it inside because it was tiny and trying to flower I probably cut roots and cooked it with the lights for a little while before I figured out what I was doing as it’s the first seed I popped but it took about a month before I really noticed it doing something but probably my fault
