unspokentruthParticipantNovember 21, 2025 at 3:00 amAlways getting the rusty leafs right as she’s really stacking on the weight. Purple Punch Fox Farm ocean Forest soil /grow dots water only. My other strains are not doing the same thing but it still finishes flawlessly. The buds are beautiful yet. Am I missing something or is this just the way this strain finishes and looks?. Happens every run and every plant. As you see, so far I’ve just been continuing on and finishing them out. They look great and smoke great at the end.

Purple Punch and a lot of Punch crosses are known for getting rusty/taco-ed leaves late flower. It’s usually a combo of natural senescence + slight Ca/Mg drawdown as they bulk up. Ocean Forest + Grow Dots water-only can start to run out of Ca/Mg around mid–late flower, so the leaves show rust spots while the buds still finish perfect. Since it happens every run, on every plant, and doesn’t affect yield or bud quality, it’s most likely just how that cut fades, not a major deficiency. If you ever wanted to clean it up, a small cal-mag bump around week 4–6 would usually prevent the spotting, but it’s purely cosmetic. 🤓

Too much available nutrition and/or salt build up causing pH swings typically causes this mid to late flower. It doesn’t mean add cal-mag. sigh. It’s not senescence. Leaves will slowly start being consumed from the bottom up causing the leaves to evenly fade, not burn during senescence.

Okay I’ll try to adjust a few things on this next grow .. I’ll do a side-by-side and try a few things. See what I can get dialed in because it happens to this strain every time and I have enough in stock to keep running it and I really like it so if I can figure it out I’ll start cloning it
