Im wondering if its a common practice to clone from outdoor plants? As we are coming up to Solstice, I wonder if I should take a few cuttings to keep this gal going indoors?

    Recommendations/ advice??? Thx.

I grow indoors, but yea I’d take cuttings to keep for indoor. To keep it simple, you can always throw those cuttings away, but you can’t always take a cutting. Also, if you’re in the United States, you could probably still take a couple cuttings and plant them outside if you have the room. They should still have a decent amount of time to get a good size. Hope you have a good grow

Totally take cuttings, most plants still have a month or more ( end of July) before they think about flowering. Quarantine and IPM is key. I switch between soaps with alcohol and spinosad.

Agreed with Sicko, and i can attest to more than one experienced breeder say that when keeping mothers from clone to clone over the years, it is realy good to grow them outdoors and take clones in july, specificaly because you can «seeze» the plants best possible physical condition under the sun in the summer, thus maybe reducing genetic drift or degradation… but of corse you must take care to not infest the indoor garden as you do this, but common sense follows the rule that you take only cuttings from healthy plants anyways…

    Thanks for the replies.

Shes growing in the native soil of my garden, and happier than Ive seen any plant grow. I’ll be taking some cuts in the next few days. Thanks for the IPM reminders….!!
