Need a lesson on silicium. Is it a 1 a week add?

Can I add it to my ACI watering Base or should it be top watered?

  • I use it once a week in my nutrient feed in real buckets. Similar to an aci base. No issues what so ever. Just go lite, a little goes a long way with silica

  • Silicium is pretty versatile it seems. I use it once a week as a top water, mixing it in with base nutes or whichever additive is due up. Mix it in first and give it a minute to dilute, and I’ve never had any issues. Jaren has mentioned on the jug dealers show that it’s designed to be used as a foliar spray as well. 0.5 ml per gallon when using a res or top watering, 1 ml per gallon for foliar and your good to!

  • Plants absorb it better sprayed then root drenched.

  • It’ll honestly depend on your grow style. You will need to use it in slightly different ways depending on the type of media you’re using and your watering style.

coco drain to waste, you will want to use Silicium every watering.

a soil mix with liquid nutrients, Want to use silicium on days when you feed.

SIP systems, Add to your reservoir when you first fill it, but do not add more if you top off. only add when completely filling the reservoir or when doing change out of the res water.

The rate for all of this will be whatever Phive.8 has on their packaging. Which I believe is around three milliliters per 5 gallons.

  • Thanks for the info! Everyone

  • I am in coco and use it once a week, with foliar every non watering day. So every other day usually. I use a smaller amount so I can empty a spray bottle.

I also use Stash Blend. Which also has silica. And I add sand & diatomaceous earth. Man. Am I using to much? My plants don’t seem be suffering.
