Topping or Nutes Causing Small Buds?

Hello, I’m super new to this and I have grown these two Chocolopes under all the same conditions except for one was FIM’d and one was topped. The topped plant has significantly bigger buds and than the FIM’d plant. Is that why the buds are so different or is my smaller budded plant experiencing some sort of nutrient lock/issue? Both appear healthy to me, they seem to have the same water uptake and light exposure?

Starting wk 4 flower (I mis calculated earlier on and counted from flip not from first signs of budding)

    3×3 tent

VS1000 and SpiderFarmer supplemental bar lights

70-75degrees at 55-60ish% rh, I’m growing in a basement and I have a dehumidifier running 24/7 struggling to keep humidity below 60

Water is ph 6.5 run off was around 6.2 last time I checked, ec.74-.78

Fox farms happy frog soil (bottom of soil) and coco-loco (top though it’s pretty mixed now) 5G grow bags

    Lotus Nutrients+ silica and recharge

They lighting is weird in pics but they’re a nice dark green like the leaf pic in person

  • Fiming can cause your plant to do some strange things. Also If it was 2 different seeds then there’s also a possibility they are just exhibiting different pheno types.

    • Ohhh good point on the pheno’s…I don’t think I would FIM again just because the topping seems to work better (even on my others) and I’m not so scared anymore lol

  • Seedlings are siblings, not clones. There will be differences between them.
