Trichomes

At the end of flower I’m at my suggested harvest time of 77 days from sow now. But i only have cloudy trichomes no amber yet. This is an auto so I’ll be done at 84 days regardless. Just feel like I should start to see some soon. Lmao is there phenos that only get cloudy?

Amber trichomes are degraded trichomes. If you want the trichomes with the highest possible THC levels, harvest now when they’re milky.

If you’re determined to pull it at 84 days regardless then I’d wait until then. Many of my autos don’t go amber but they get cloudier than the pictures you shared. The first thing I do when starting a seed….ignore the suggested harvest times. I grow in hydroponics and most breeders do not so our environments are different which, I believe, causes different outcomes. As I learned from Jerin at New Millenium, genome + environment = phenome.

It’s best to harvest when they’re milky even if you want CBN. You can easily degrade the trichomes after harvest if that’s what you’re after. That’s why we want to keep the trichomes as cold as possible (without freezing if on bud) to keep them from quickly degrading at room temperature. Dry cold and store flower just above freezing to keep the quality over time.

You’re correct. Plants don’t have a phenotype. They have many different phenotypic expressions based on environment.
