Upgrading tent mid flower

twilightstonedParticipantOctober 2, 2025 at 7:57 amHey growmies,
I recently ordered an 5×5 tent upgrade to replace my original 4×4. They will be setup in the same room close to eachother. I had 2 ideas about executing the move with as little stress to the plants as possible.
Process 1 lights off: use a small green battery powered LED so that I can see and disassemble stuff, the plan was to try to execute 1-2 hours before the lights come on.
Process 2 lights on: Use a smaller 9w flowering LED bulb to maintain (weak light) while the work is being done.
What do you guys think would be the preferred method to stress the plants the least.
Thanks in advance,
CJ

Am I not understanding the entire question? Why not just do it while the lights on cycle? Those lights would give you plenty of light to execute the move.

Sorry I forgot to mention the detail that I will be swapping over my equipment from my 4×4 to the 5×5 environment then Ill use the 4×4 for drying till I can get some more lights to throw in it for a veg environment.

Basically I will be doing a live swap and my plants are really hitting the gas right now just starting to preflower and stretch and I dont want to do anything to mess with their flow in this swap.

I think I found my answer through my own research. The presence of the right kind of light will maintain continuity of the photoperiod regardless of intensity. So lights on is the way I will execute. :)

yeah a few hours of photoperiod interruption won’t be a big deal to your plants anyway. One day of weirdness wont effect the grow too much and isnt long enough to disrupt their flowering. It takes a longer sustained interruption of the light cycle to throw the plant off. If you get the move done in one light cycle your plants will just think of it as a cloudy day.
