What height do you think I can expect on these?

Second grow, first outdoor. I am in ground using Growdots and Recharge. (The tomatoes in the garden are getting the same treatment and they are loving it as well). I started these inside in a tent. I transplanted outside on 6/1 progress pic (first pic) at 6/14 (second pic) and then just this weekend on 6/28 (last 2 pics). The largest are over 4′ currently and I’ve been topping and trying to even the canopy. I’m in upstate NY and not really sure when the flowering will start but I have to have another month of growth before they flower. I certainly underestimated the width needed for these plants and will have to drop fewer next year. Looking at the last pic the 2 at far right are Wedding Cake, The middle two are Brice Banner and on the left front is Super Lemon Haze and behind is Maracuya. What would you expect the size to finish at?

Those are probably going to get pretty big. Not sure of the height all depends on lots of variables but I usually fill a 6×6 section with a single plant outdoors in michigan. Usually around 10ft tall. I would think flower should start early August somewhere in there.

I am confident I don’t have enough width. the area is 8’x16′. I’ll only run 3 or 4 next year. I just keep reading and hearing that they will double in size from start of flower. They’ve been growing over a foot every couple weeks. I could have 2 more feet on the height by the time they start to flower at this rate.

You could, theoretically cover them up with a thick tarp early before nightfall. That would cut the light from them and make them start flowering early, that is a lot of work though. Yeah outdoor with natures light bulb, I’ve seen some grow 15 ft and the trunks actually develope bark. Strain dependent obviously, but 8-10 ft and almost as wide is common.

I’m only at this place on the weekends so I don’t think I could pull anything off like this. I trimmed the bottoms up a lot after these pics. Having never seen a full-size live plant they are getting bigger than I expected.

In an outdoor grow is it really expected that the size doubles from start of flower? (barring any issues)

No. Vigor is 100% plant dependent.

Vigor starts with the roots. That’s your first clue. A super vigorous plant will have a super vigorous root system. As above so below. There are plants that won’t double in size and barely stretch to some that will 5x, with no way of knowing which is which. Some slow in veg may go crazy in flower and vice versa. She’ll surprise you.

To many factors to tell. Flower phase will double to triple alone, depends strain. Enviroment genetics care, a lot you can control. Outdoor done right you wont reach the top without a ladder.
