What to throw away after powdery mildew and Ozone generator tips

Wazz up DGC – happy Sunday 🤙

So I just threw away the last 2 flowering plants due to powdery mildew. That was fun after 10 weeks of bloom🙈

So tomorrow I will start cleaning the empty bloom tent and after that I will try my new ozone generator and I would love to hear your thoughts.

I know no one should be in the room during and even 2 hours after. I live alone and have no pets so that will be easy.

Should I worry about something else? I am planning to leave the veging plants to be in that room and everything that could have spores on it.

Should I throw away the used soil? I usually put some good stuff in it and use it again. But that sounds like a bad idea to me after what happened… 🤷‍♂️

  • Im in a constant battel with pm due to where i live. I have never had to toss out a grow tho. I just treat with lost coast and neem!

  • I read that ozone is not good for electronics or LEDs, but I didnt move mine out when I did it. Pretty sure ozone will kill everything including the plants. Probably right not to reuse the soil if it’s not ‘living’ soil And you’ve had problems. And I wouldn’t trust the ozone for 100%, combine with deep clean, peroxide/bleach or anti black mold spray that stuff is powerful!!

      Thanks for the tips💚

That is almost what my plan is. Clean everything with alcohol and after that with bleach. After the deep cleaning I will use the ozone generator. Think I will take the risk with my electronics and the vegging plants🤞🍀 only the strong survive 🤷‍♂️

  • Only thing I’m not sure about is keeping the veg plants if you’re suspicious they are infected too, as it would make all that work cleaning not worth it probably hmmm

They show no signs at all and I will spray them and Ozone the shit out of them. If they’ll survive that, they will have another chance. 🤞🍀

      • Yeah good point it is in veg so you can spray the shit out of them like captan said haha

  • The 3rd Kingdom will live on. I am thinking that conditions that provide a good growing environment for PM should be avoided.

I like to run double dehumidifiers at lower that optimum humidity settings for plant growth to avoid those steamy August-night like conditions.

Using Russian made UVC fluorescents, in conjunction with the ozone generating lights, vacuum, bleach after every grow.

    Good Luck!

      Thanks man💚

I’ll try to be more anal about many things in future runs.

Environment wise in the night cycle, definitely avoiding a vpd under 1.0 at the end of flower. At least that’s what I was thinking when analyzing the last 30 days of my environment from the ggs controller thing. I heard that cold outside air going into the tent during the light cycle is also promoting pm. That’s definitely something I screwed up. I was thinking it’s a good way to get the temperature down, as long as the humidity stays low. My vpd during the lights on was 1.5 and up, so I was thinking I’m good. 🤷‍♂️
