Why in flower?

A clone from my own plant I swear is starting to flower. There are 3 girls in the greenhouse, all photos, all in 5gal fabric pots, pro-mix, and grow-dots. Watered with well water from the hose.

These 3 have been in drought like conditions two or three times due to lack of watering on my part. Only this one is doing this. The other 2 look fine in veg.

Did you recently move them from indoors to outdoors? A sudden increase of dark hours can trigger flower even if it’s not the traditional 12:12. Say indoors they’re under 18:6 then outdoors is 14:10.

It’s a clone, so we can rule out Autoflower. Do you have more than one clone from the same donor?

They’ve been out there for a few weeks at this point and still are. I have other clones from this same mother some I’ve flowered already. Would the age of the mother have anything to do with it?

I don’t think the age of the mother would affect it. It looks like it could be two weeks into flower, the plants will stretch for some time before showing pistils like that. If the dark hours were abruptly lengthened that could be it. Also, they’re probably experiencing colder nights. Both things that can trick a plant into thinking winter is coming. Some plants need more or less “flowering stimulus” to flip depending on their genetics. The plant might have been getting 18:6 with nice warm night time temps, then the next night it’s dark for an extra 4 hours and it’s cold, it thinks winter is coming!

There was a good episode on KISorganics podcast recently about this. I’ll find it and post a link.

It will reveg anyway assuming you’re in the northern hemisphere. It just might look a bit weird for a while. You’ll be able to tell it’s revegging when it starts shooting funny looking single leaves .

I saw a post on Real Grow Lab, I think it was. Someone had 3 clones from the same mother and one ended up being an autoflower. I’m sure the odds of it happening are pretty low but apparently very possible if there’s any hidden ruderalis genes in it.
