Will multiple cheap lamps, from different angles, harm my Plants?

puffle_fluffParticipantJune 10, 2024 at 3:32 amI love your show, and since its now finaly legal in Germany to grow a little bit for yourself… i as a Patient
want to make the best out of this crude law… :)But there is so much bullshit
information about growing out there, and its just great to see you
guys talking about your experiences in that open relaxed way.Thx for all the knowledge and the fun <3
At first, i know i should get a good
lamp. And i will as soon as i can, but for at
least this year its not possible for me.But i found a old Blurple Led Lamp from
2015, and traded a cheap Fullspectrum Plantlight for some Beer
lately…I add a image of the actual improvised
“setup”. Feel free to roast it.Would be an honor. ^^
So basicly the plant gets now 18 hours
of light / 3 hours Blurple + 12 hours* both Lamps + 3 Blurple every
Day.(*because the Plantlamp has some
3h/9h/12h Timer, that cant be combined with a extra timer…)Here are some Values i got meassured
from my setup.(not even shure i did this right..)
-DLI:
20 close up, falling to 10 in about 40
mm range-PPFD:
very close(~20mm from lamps) 170 –
70ppfd (~200 mm from lamp)-LUX:
5600-3000 lux ~ same range as above
-Temp/Humi:
25° 69%
-CO²:
~1100 ppm
(I live in the same room, so the last
ones will change a lot)#My Questions are:
-Will it hurt the Plants, or produce
more hermis, ect, if multiple cheap lamps are used like that at the
same time, and from different angles?-Has it Benefits, or is it just wasted
Energie?-If you dont recommend using both, wich
of this Lamps would you recommend for veg and flowering?Keep in Mind that both of my Lamps are
just around 15 Watt. And i dont need a big harvest, since
everything over 50g in total per Person, has to be destroyed anyway. And i will follow this law by the
letter. After ~15 years of fear and loathing in bavaria, its so nice to
feel kind of like a “normal citizen” again. :]So i look for a steady harvest every one
or two months, with lower mass but better quality. If even possible with that lights. The plan was one Plant in bloom while the next clone grows already?
Maybe you guys have some good tips for
that too?But the 4-6 week old Plant and her 4
Day old clone look good, to me as a noob at least. It was just some random baggy seed, in
old leftover soil, my Testplant if you will.I call her Princess. <3
Nice color and grow under this setup so
far, besides of all the errors i made pruning to much, and
repotting…Didnt do it on porpuse of course.
But i am kind of happy to learn from “my
princess” and from you guys, before the real grow starts.I already corrected some errors, i
organized some coco, better soil, bonemeal, fertilizer, and ordered
some sweet skunk fast flower seeds for the grow attempt.Have you some extra tipps on how i can
keep the plants happy?:)

Nah it’ll be fine. Worth a try anyway! Worst comes to worst you’ll have a small amount of weed and a fun story.

get a fan for air movement ( I’m not seeing one in your pic )and if you don’t have a tent a large cardboard box lined with aluminum foil will work to make the most of what light you have…

I second this! My first year growing anything took big pieces of cardboard and lined with crinkled up foil and just kept it all boxed up together. Was good enough to get some smokable bud off and let me get my feet wet with growing to see if was something really wanted to invest into

I used old shop lights for years. Not good for flowering but does the job for veg if your on a budget. When I used this method I would flower my plants outdoors.

got a small fan, and everything is in a old tent with lots of holes… but should work somehow ^^
it gets pretty wet and hot in here during the summer, even without extra light and plants, could i use a small electric dehumidifier?
my neighbors already hate the regular smell, outdoors would not work out well for me i guess.
but i try that with cardboard and foil
thx you all

if you are limited to 50 grams, consider a space bucket grow. Easy small, low investment grow, you could probably do it with your present lights. Lots of YouTube tutorials.
