Hi fellow travelers. I’ve got a new batch of seedlings in a 2X2 keeping them in the high 70s, humidity running in the low 60s. Misted domes. The LED light set is 12 inches from the new plants and I got the seedlings on a 18-6 light cycle at reduced strength. I had a decent germination rate (I’d love to perfect it) but a couple failed to flourish. Zap. Face down in the dirt gone. And then there’s this guy, the Wonky One. Anybody got insight into why it has this odd leaf pattern? It’s getting stronger and raising off the lip of the cup now. This is day 15 here in the photos.

I personally work raise the light on seeding I set mine at about 2 foot above and try running a 16/8 cycle just a little more rest and I wish you the best of success on your grow

Leaves will initially twist when the pH is out of range and the roots are stressed. This is not light related.

Don’t expect microbes to control pH. They have an influence, but will not make alkaline water/soil slightly acidic.

UPDATE:

Thanks to Scotty and JR Tokin and the gang on today’s live DGC Show broadcast for handling my question. I’ve been leaving the clone dome on the seedlings and apparently drowning them…(Yes, I AM an idiot, thank you very much:) ) Another reason this show and site are so important to new growers. So, I’ve snatched those domes off and I think I’ve just saved some plants. Woo hoo!

Here’s the plant I call the Wonky One a day after being transplanted out of the swamp and into the big tent with its peers. It survived the shock and it’s standing up straight and looks like it’s ready to dig in. The three others that hatched are about twice this size and vigorous.

JMystro, thanks for the heads up on the ph. Hoping to dial in on that issue and get it right with this crop.
