Disbud? or defoliate?
Anyone who’s grown tomatoes has most likely heard of removing the suckers. the branches that wont produce good fruit.
How about the Dahlia and Rose fanatics.? They’re all about disbudding the inferior buds to promote energy to the chosen one.
And I recall hearing someone talk about sinks and stores, whether or not to remove the large fan leaves. They hold the battery for sustained growth and by removing them the plant spends energy to grow new ones. im sure it was a dude grows episode somewhat recently…does anyone recall this? Am I remembering correctly?
The question that comes to mind from all this is whether to lollipop when going into flower, or just disbud the lower 1/3 and keep most of the lower fan leaves? Air circulation may be an issue though. hmm?
Is defoliation over rated? I enjoy seeing photos of plants with a nice fade at the end of flower, but I usually strip those off before they get the chance to fade.
Im new to growing weed, and indoor growing is a completely different world to me. I suppose what style of plant training you do may have some influence.
any thoughts on this ramble?
