can someone who has both ACI and MARS weigh in on this please.. mars has a wicked sale goin on right now and after doing taxes i have some extra tent fund $ coming.

I thought i would check out ACI. and even with the dudes 10% off coupon its STILL over $1000 for a ACI 2×4 full tent set up, and that doesnt even include there new line of “EVO” lights. its the old model to boot. that’s expensive

I currently run a 2x4x6 mars hydro with 2 Viper spectra xs1500 pro the whole thing was under $550 canadian. hell, mars hydro , spider farmer ,and gorilla are all roughly the same price.

so again i ask , is ACI that much better, why do they get such a high horse?

they have flooded the market with advertising, so you don’t see any other company’s. they have that figured out forsure.

also just my personal opinion but i think they have brainwashed consumers into thinking “we need bigger poles for our tents, its gotta be better”. what a gimmick. im a pipe welder by trade. i work with this stuff everyday. the average person realizes how much weight a 1/2″ tube can handle. We are not hanging 200 pound lights from these tubes. the heaviest light on the market that i could find was 60 pounds. that is WELL within the limit of a 1/2 tube. also, for most of us,our tents stay in one spot or room, set it up once and leave it. so the argument for rigidity is mute, its not like we have them on boats and the flexing all the time.

im not trying to start an argument, im genuinely curious why every one as ACI on a Pedestal. i am still considering them for another tent

The 24”x48”x72” kit that includes online fan, carbon filter, Ionboard light, circulation fan, and accessories (fabric pots, scoot net, trimmers ducking etc) is $649 US on Amazon. I’ve liked my 3’x3’x6’ kit from them, I did add a heater and a humidifier though.

To be fair not having to pay shipping to Alaska and catching a sale was what got me to purchase.

I’ll have to look into it. I caught mine on a 25% off Black Friday sale so got the 3×3 kit for around $450 US. I’m going to be sizing up in the fall so I’ll have to look into Mars for sure. How is their controller that comes in the kit?

Mars Hydro promoted and sold growers complete garbage blurple lights for too many years and is why I’d never support them.

Im new to the indoor stuff. So i went with what my buddies have. I don’t have an issue with there tents. But I don’t run there lights.

correct me if im wrong. But there was only a couple companys doing lights when indoor growing started getting big, didn’t they all have blurple lights at one point?

Blurple tech has been around long before 2014 with Mars being one of the biggest promoters of the blurple grow lights. Mars had the worst nonsense advertising with rediculous wattage equivalency claims. ‘Full’ spectrum LEDs from Cree made it possible for DIY at this time before Spectrum King partnered with Cree about 2015 to produce commerical lighting. Blurples are a joke so I stuck with HPS until 2015. The efficiency of the diodes has greatly increased over the past 10 years.

I have a FC 3000-evo from Mars Hydro and a T6 from ACI it’s both cheap crap from china sold with huge margins…ACI, MarsHydro and SpiderFarmer are the 3 that have the same image in my head. you can get a glimpse of what their stuff is actualy worth by looking at the discount prices. over the year to me it looks like there are more sales than periods with ‘normal prices’. and yet their crap is kinda worth the money unless you can programm an arduino with some probes and relays yourself, than it gets really cheap

ACI is that much better. Also DLI is an excellent light.

However, our friend Jeremy over at Build a Soil shares good information. Ex. https://youtu.be/8sxt1rgnxQ0?si=CGpv3smcVEc5dhLB

The best for you is what works for you. Personally. I have learned quality over quantity is best here. I would rather buy 1 HLG, DLI, and ACI.

the efficiency , durability, longevity of a top quality light is something we all are looking for at the best price. It is ultimately up to you. You seem to be doing your research and asking direct questions. Take some more time and keep doing your research and asking questions.

you will get user information here. I have a “chilled led for my 3×5. And I have a HLG Diablo. HLG Lamp was a refurbished model. HLG lamp is 4?5? Years old. And it is need of replacing. I love the Chilled . Covers my 3×5 almost perfectly! I’m looking into supplemental lighting. My tents are Vivosun 3×5 and my 4×4 is ACI. Both are great, but older. Sagging a bit around the zippers. Few to many cat fights around the front right corner. Both have other light leaks . I took Grambo’s and Gabe’s (I believe. May also have been Jerin.) anyway. The Jug Dealers advise and sat in my lung room in complete dark. And sat inside my tents while complete dark 😕 light leaks all over. Mostly self inflicted cat claw holes. And zipper wear and tear. Seems are loose. Little flicker of light getting through. But they are still strong and sturdy. But I also hear Gorilla makes a solid tent too.

again. Up to you. Ask questions and do your research. Maybe hold off to make big equipment purchases around the 20th of April. 10th of July, many other sales throughout the year. Shop sales. And finally. You get (usually), what you pay for. Compare warranties. Compare diode ratings , efficacy, etc.

Personally. I am leaning toward ACI for everything. I may get a HPS or two from DLI. Have to see what the value of turning 54 is 😂 last thing I promise. Listen to the people you trust, people smarter than you (your inner voice will tell you) and people who use the equipment they advertise. Good luck ✌🏼☝🏼🤟🏼

Thank you for the informative reply. Much appreciated.

I TOTALLY forgot about 420 lol everyday has been 420 to me for almost 20 years lol kinda forgot that was a thing. Now that you bring that up, maybe I am better off waiting 1 month for ACI to put there 420 sale on

ACI for the controls 💯 %. Customer service so far has been great. Mix match whatever else IMO. Thought to myself whoever owns ACI is and probably will continue to make bank. Getting close to their 420sale I have my list

I’m saying you can get a way better light than ACI’s. Everybody is more or less running the same thing. Evo’s & Orsam DR and FR. Hers’s something to think about,What about a little green up in the mix!!KINGBRITE got all kind of nm variations..And don’t think you got to have them evo’s to be doing something. 301b 281b+. Ain’t that lass efficient but wat cheaper!!

Chiming in…If you enjoy this community. Shop ACI with code ‘dudegrows’ I run alot of their gear. No complaints. I don’t say it enough using a ‘Shows’ coupon code is huge to their budget. Support your Podcasts & YT show using coupon codes. STAY HIGHER ……I am, 🤣🤣Took me 20 min to write this….lol

I’m telling y’all for them LED lights hop on over to Alibaba and fuck with the little chinaman directly and get you a King brite same diodes ACI,spider farmer, Mars is running lm301h evo inventions driver. literally the exact same shit just no namebrand stamped on it. Only bad thing is if you need it in a hurry you’ll probably be spending more money than you would buying one of the name brands but if a man’s got time. I bought my 800 W when the Evo dials first came out with Orsam reds. It took two weeks to get it and I got it for less than $650 to the door works like a champ.

I just come to learn this myself. I have 4 viperspectra xs1500 pros and I just come to learn they use THE SAME Lm301h diodes that ACI is using in there EVO 3.

And to boot. The par maps are identical. The only differences are aci has ever so little more UV and far reds.

Is it worth 3 times the price.. I don’t think so personally. Now that I’ve learnt alot more about lights.

1 ACI Evo 3 in Canada, not on sale is 691 before tax.

4 viper spectra xs1500 pros cost me $600. Shane/Migro has great vids on these lights.

Same strategy here. Smaller light doubled up in a tent.
