Curious to know what people use for plant labels. and how you keep your genetics properly labeled from seed to harvest. My go to’s are painters tape and sharpie on the container, or old vinyl window blinds recycled and cut into label lengths, stuck into the soil. I also use a calendar as a grow log. Trying to grow perpetual, takes a bit more organization and documentation I think. I often confuse myself and lose track of who is who if growing more than one strain (cultivar).

What do you like to use? how do you keep track of your growing?

Different rocks or coins. Placed on top of the soil.

From my former life… I use these once they’re in a pot. The opening is about two inches in diameter and there’s plenty of room to write. Great in different colors to keep nute packages or times clear at a glance. A white board with corresponding colored markers is a nice addition. 🤘🏼

If I’m planting the last seed in a pack I staple the empty seed pack on the fabric pot.

Otherwise I use whatever is handy. There are green plastic plant labels around here as well. Pen, marker, whatever works and doesn’t cost anything. I remove the tags, clean the bags and repeat on the next grow.

Between filling the dehumidifier and tissue culture I end up with a bunch of empty 1 gal distilled water bottle. One of the ways I upcycle these is by cutting them into plastic labels. Can be made to be long and stick in soil nursery style, or I also turn them into little flag style labels

I use these 2 colored tag labels, SKU from Amazon B00XHHOJA0 and B08PCVJMHZ. Sometimes these loop labels: B08KY4PLJC.

I have a grow log for each plant. Updated every Friday. Weekly tracked is number of nodes, notes for watering, top dressings, additional nutes, pest management applications during veg, plant condition, any low or high stress techniques, leaf removal, light strength, flip week, flower week, harvest week.

    Good Luck!

Kiddies loom bands place one round the stem when cloning and the different colours act as labels using the colour to identify what strain 😎😎😎

Sometimes I cut out the strain name on the breeders pkg and staple it outside the fabric pot if it’s the last seed in the pkg. Other times I staple a page marker with strain written on it or if the plastic bag I germinated the seed in had the strain name on it I’ll hang that on the edge of the drip tray.

I am allowed four in flower and four in veg and grows sometimes overlap but lately it’s been four autos at a time. The bigger question is am I so burnt out that I can’t even remember four strain names? 😄
