Vent setup

My cobbled together version of a humidifier setup to feed my 2×4 and 3×3. $14 plastic vent Y and put them in the bottom vents. Now the trick will be to figure out what to set the humidifier and exhaust fans at and how long to humidify.

Plants will be fine with good air flow. Could be my solution for a way to raise VPD in the tents. Materials used, Y and three hose clamps, duct tape, Folgers can and a 4” diameter container.

Interesting, probably minimum of level 5 for steady but low. More than likely 8-10 with a 4” fan. Smooth pipe with deliver a smoother flow so probably something to keep in mind. I’ve got a 4” pvc pipe I’m making into a multi directional airflow into the the grow room to disperse cooler air better. Metal hvac ducting is what I’m aiming at.

The humidifier is adjustable and the exhaust fans on 2 pull on both tents has enough suction to pull the vapor in. I am leaving it on during lights on and it’s pretty much just fill and run it. The exhaust fans humidify the room as well.

I can keep my humidity at the right level in flower so it’s something I’ll use in veg mainly. Might have to rig it up to the drying tent to hit 60 for a couple weeks as well.

The only thing missing is a tent probe but I am not having any problems adjusting. Outside weather influences the indoor grow. Especially now while the ground is still frozen. Humidity in my half basement will rise when the frost goes out. I’m retired so I can pop into the room whenever I want. Couldn’t make this work if it was automated and I was monitoring remotely.

We are getting hit with another snowstorm tomorrow into Wednesday. Temps will struggle to hit 40 and lows in the 20’s. Furnace will be running the whole time and drying the air in the lung room. This thing looks corny but gets me closer than just running the humidifier in the middle of the 11×12’ room. It’s considered a storage room and does not have heat or cold air returns. Being sealed like that makes it fairly easy to balance things between the room and tents.

Not perfect but it has made a noticeable difference in early veg plant growth overnight. My tents were too dry in veg and every year is different. Last year was wet until August and I hardly had to worry about humidity.

Don’t be afraid to try crazy shit. Sometimes it actually works.
