a week agoAsk a Grow Question a week agoI am a newer grower, and even though I have an almost 2 month old plant as is, I am still very unsure as to when to tell they go from seeding stage to vegetative stage. I know I messed up with the previous one and probably the two I have now but how can I tell when to start giving it the proper nutrients for vegetation?

If it’s 2 months old, you’re in veg now. Is this an indoor grow?

I start feeding my seedlings the seedling and cutting recommended nutrients for the line of nutrients I use on day 10 from sprout then on day 16 I will increase my light and feed them week one of Vegetation nutrients and see how they respond to the feeding and the increased light

A seedling is in the vegetative stage as soon as it pops up. Seedlings will need nutrition provided at about 10-21 days from germination depending on genetics. Most are ok to feed after about 2 weeks.

a week agoGrow Talk a week agoSo when this little one popped out the ground, the shell was still stuck to her and I could not get it off. She finally pushed it off, but she is just the one little sprouting leaf. Do I let her keep growing or do I start over? Will she produce?

It happens. It can survive if the apical growth is intact. Hard to tell so just wait a few days like freedizzgrows suggested.

I try to help remove the seed hull if needed. You just have to be VERY careful. Wait and give it a chance!

Early on in my experience, I got anxious and helped the shell and top of the plant off. Doh!

I wouldn’t suggest it unless you’re going to cut a hole for an exhaust fan and a fresh air intake to replace the air in your drying space so it doesn’t get any mold!

Are you talking about a working deep freezer or just using an old freezer to dry in?

Sounds like an expensive rigid tent that’s going to be hard to keep air circulation going in.

You can’t dry or store bud in a deep freezer. Freezing time is what determines how large an ice crystal can form. Slow freeze will create big crystals. Flash freezing creates tiny crystals. Freezing creates sharp ice crystals that puncture cell walls turning the bud to mush.

2 weeks agoGrow Talk 2 weeks agoSo I have a question. I am a newer, indoor grower and newer to this group. This is my two month old Bruce Banner Auto, and I’m being told it’s already starting to bud. If this is the case, I had wish to do much more training with her before this point would it still be OK to try to lay her down and spread her branches out?

Sounds kinda late now. That’s the thing I don’t like about auto flowers. You work on their time, not the other way around.

I’d say you still have time for some training. If I plan on alot of training I plant off center and work it around the outside of the pot in a C shape. This works well for some of the strains I’ve grown, others not so much… I recently had to put a big bend in the top of one a month into flower, she took it and stood back up the next day.… Read more
