This Let me start by saying, I’m a Senior citizen and two time cancer survivor. Due to heavy chemotherapy I’m left with peripheral nephropathy (Little to no feeling) in my hands and feet. I have learned to adapt to doing things like growing by using tools that make it semi automated as much as possible. For example, using Real Buckets, modified Real Bucket reservoirs and humidifiers which I hooked up to my RO system that allows me to maintain water levels. Ive also added two 1/2 inch shutoff valves with Brass disconnect fitting between my reservoirs and the real Bucket Planters to aid in cleaning. I have plans to add the brass garden hose connectors between all planters for easy removal for cleaning. I also purchased a small Wet Vac and a regular shop vac for cleaning up dry stuff. I grow for my medicine and pleasure.

Another Real Bucket mod in my 5×5 tent I did today that lets me separate the bucket for cleaning (we need to clean our watering buckets, they can get funky) and/or moving as needed. 1/2 inch valves for isolation and 1/2 inch hose connectors from Amazon for easy disconnection points. The way I did it gave me an extra foot between buckets and worked like a charm.

Quick update on the Real bucket, I had a plugged float valve orifice. My plants leafs looked weak and dropping so I checked the water level in the reservoir (Top Bucket) I had the RO supply line turned off for a couple of days and noticed the water level had not lowered. I used my wet vac and emptied the reservoir and pulled it out of the blue bucket and brought over to my deep sink to put water in to check the float valve, sure enough it had a tiny little piece of particle stuck in the inside the float valve orifice that was blocking the release of water to the Grow Buckets. I pulled the pin out of the valve and cleaned out the orifice (very tiny hole where the water comes through). I cleaned up the bucket just in case and it’s working properly now.

I own one and its works great. It is pricey and limited to 2.2 lbs of “Wet flower”. For this reason I also own a small Koolatrol “as a backup” which I built for less the $320.

This is a couple of pictures of my simple continuous fill system for my Real Buck Reservoir. $6 total. May need to add a small weight to place on the lid to ensure the hydraulic pressure cant push it open before the float valve closes. I haven’t started to use it yet, I still have a full tent in flower. I already have RO water plumed to the lung room so this is 98% done project. Hope this helps someone, Peace

Theses are my plans/ideas before starting my first grow using the Real Buckets 2.0. I’m a Veteran and a two time cancer survivor living with some disabilities issues, So I’m trying to make this system super easy to compensate for my situation.

    – 100% Cana Coco coir with Grow dots and Recharge.

-Planning on modifying the water hose to allow me to keep the watering reservoir out side of my 5×5 tent and modifying hoses for my 4 grow buckets inside. (I need space for my balance)

    – I know that the watering reservoir should be on the same ground level as the grow buckets.

    – Also thinking about adding a float valve to the lid of watering reservoir to add a RO line directly to the watering reservoir keeping full at all times.

Everything looks simple to do, so I hope others can use these ideas to make growing a little easier. Peace

I wish I had taken a picture. It looked like it was organic like a very small part of the plant may have fell in the the bucket while the lid was open. It was very small, if I hadn’t taken the pin out to investigate I would not have seen it. I will forever clean the top of the lid before opening it.

<div>1/4″ OD Quick Connect Push in to Connect Water Tube Fitting 10pcs+1/4 inch RO Water White Tubing, 10M(32FT)</div>

1/2 Inch NPT Mini Float Ball Valve Kit Automatic Fill Feed Humidifier Tank Pond Shut off Water Float Ball Valve, 2 Pack

If you have an RO system, you will need to tap into that to use it to maintain the reservoir water level, The girls drink a lot of water.

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have regarding the auto water level system using RO water system.

ThChrMn, How much Recharge solution do you apply at each application to each Real Bucket? Also how do you apply the salt (mix it with Recharge solution or just sprinkle it on top? I have a 4 bucket setup and don’t want to over/under use Recharge/salts. Thanks
