I’ve seen a lot of grafted tomatoes finally hit the home grower in recent years.
If they find a root stock that thrives in DWC and allows for more salt tolerance… If the data supports it, why wouldn’t they graft? No…

For kids: strawberries will be solid with the runners too.
Tomatoes: check out Tiny Tim or similar dwarf.
I’ve done bush beans, pole beans and peas got out of hand.
My kids enjoy the ornamentals too: Teddy Bear sunflower stays nice and small.
Under the strawberries, you could also plant gladiola bulbs. Those grow straight up with…
