I’m curious about the importance of the dark period during the 6 amd 12hr cycle. Why is it so important that we don’t get any light leaks? Im also wondering about how people go about getting air into the tent during the period without light leaking in. Once the light turns off and the inline extraction fan is running the tent starts pulling…

I run a little duct with a filter over it for the intake. It has 2, 90 degree bends in it to not let light through.

Complete darkness is important because it is the longer nights after the summer solstice that trigger the plant to flower. Sufficient interruption of the dark period can cause the plant to ‘wake up’ and prevent flowering.

If you have light leaks during the 12 hour dark period you will get seeds in your weed here and there. Don’t grow them they will make plants that make a lot of seeds. Use charcoal carbon filter sheets over your passive intake flaps thats what I do.

Our 1st grow, out 1st tent. Really cheap set up but it’s been great to learn all the variables with. Zero Auto Pilot! 😄 Still learning the fine art of Epsom and Calcium but me and my daughter are having a blast!
